I need some help with halloween items!

I'm playing on my second copy trying to get this item on Halloween:

I'm having such a hard time trying to get it. I'm also confused because I got the item named "Patched Item" but it didn't look like the item. It looked like the typical light yellow with the light blue patches pants you get from the villagers. I picked it up and it didn't catalog. I'm not sure if the image on MoriDB is incorrect or what because it looks exactly like the "Patched-Knee Pants" you get from Gracie: http://moridb.com/items/bottoms/patched-knee-pants

I'm thinking about order an bunch of pants and giving it to my second character and seeing what happens. I'm so confused. If anyone can help me with my problem, it's much appreciated.

The patched halloween clothes don't count on the catalog at all. And they are supposed to be like the light yellow/blue ones, the picture is incorrect on that MoriDB page for "patched pants".

It's an error on the moridb website. That picture is of the patched-knee pants that you get at Gracie's during spring.
