I have made a couple posts on my town already, but im doing an abandoned kingdom-turned spring forest type thing, including the big castle. What would you guys recommend for the exterior, as well as the interior? For the main entry room, im probably turning that into the living room. Im thinking of using the broken posts, either them or the colonial posts. with the rococo or palace wall. What do you think the flooring should be? Ahh im not great at decorating my new leaf house, its so much easier in achhd. I do know that for my bedroom, im using mostly the princess set. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you!

For the interior, you could make it look really regal but as if it has been uninhabited for many years. The main room could be a large entrance hall with water features, lots of plants and artwork but then some hints that it has fallen into disuse, with a few dropped items, maybe some pieces out of place or missing. The basement could be pretty spooky, with not much furniture and eerie music. There could be a music room, or some place where royals would go to be entertained. Upstairs could be a grand bedroom with a four-poster, and evidence that someone used to live there but doesn't anymore - a dairy, letters, and again, some out of place pieces. You could also have a ballroom or a library too.

you coould do a really overgrown back garden with seats and teacups

Melchoir brought up some really good ideas for the interior. :)

As for the exterior, I think surrounding your castle with water qr codes to make a moat would give it a nice touch (unless your house is already surrounded by the river). Maybe use a face standee or a custom design sign close by to signify it's a castle. Or maybe in front of your castle, have a pathway with bushes or trees lined up. Maybe incorporate the statue fountain or the stone tablet can give it a classy abandoned look. If you're going for something creepy, I think having the scarecrow and the torches. I would use cedar trees to give it a darker tone.

Either way, good luck! :)

I'd like to visit your dream town when you're done with it. ;)

I would put lots of rococo candlesticks and regular candles throughout the castle, but have them all turned off/blown out. Also, I would suggest turning off the switch (on the lower screen) for each room as well. The darker the rooms are, while still having evidence that they were once lit (the candles), the more abandoned the castle will appear.

I really like the back garden room idea, could maybe use the mossy floor? Not sure if there's a wallpaper to go with that one but there's always the regular sky wallpaper if all else fails.
Rococo flooring might be really nice for a master bedroom, along with some other bits of rococo furniture like the chair and candlesticks. The gorgeous bed would be great as it looks very much like it could go in a castle. Maybe you could have a throne somewhere in the main entry? Or it could be in one of the rooms to the right or left and be called the throne room, maybe have some crowns on display along with some of the gold set - table, gold statue (can't think of its name). I think there is some kind of knight outfit, maybe you could get two mannequins and decorate them in the armour and have them standing by the entryway to the back room?

I use the garden exterior on my house. It puts a little vine and flower pattern around the door that looks cool. Maybe some of the flower furniture from I think weeding day would look nice inside your house.

Literally, the creepy series would be perfect for this. It has creepy grandfather clocks, creepy knight armors, I'd put in some fireplaces, and the creepy bust too. My favorite series, and my whole basement it decked out with it. ;)
