♡!Starting out my new town!♡

♡---------------------------------------♡

Everything about my town so far

My townies:
☆Peggy
☆Jacques
☆Apollo
☆Broffina
☆Anchovy
☆Deirdre
☆Stinky

♡---------------------------------------♡

General:
☆None of my shops have been upgraded
☆I have all the fruit except one of the beach fruits
☆I haven't upgraded from a tent yet :'3

♡---------------------------------------♡

My Big Goals:

Basically I just want an idea about what I can do to make my town successful at a good rate.
I want to upgrade my shops as fast as possible, and get my dream townies as fast as possible. I also want to create a nice clean town, where I have roads and have them be tree and flower lined. And same with public works projects!

♡---------------------------------------♡

I'd love to have as much advice as possible. I had a town before and I had a lot of public works already completed but it just felt like my town didn't have the flow that I wanted it to so I decided to restart it fresh!

Thank you for any and all tips! I look forward to hearing from everyone and getting some great insight into how to make my town the cutest and most successful I can!

The best advice I can give anyone starting out is to get all your dreamies BEFORE you start landscaping. Trying to do both at once is a nightmare and the reason Solstice still isn't anywhere near done after almost 10 months. In the meantime, collect all of the tree and bush starts (once you get Lief) and store them somewhere so when you do start landscaping you have something to work with. Any hybrids you want to breed start breeding on the beach so a surprise villager or forgetting to plot reset won't destroy weeks of work, and just try to be patient.

When I'm gettng a new town off the ground I tend to play 2+ days each day, just because there's not as much to do yet and once you've finished all your daily stuff it makes sense to move to the next day. It upgrades shops and moves villagers in/out faster, as long as you're not opposed to time travelling it really is the fastest way to get your town off the ground.

Wow thanks I really appreciate the advice! It's so hard to get dreamies sometimes bc they can become super expensive for certain ones, but yeah I totally get the fact that it'd be better to have everyone I want in the village first before trying to make side walks and such.
I've already started with some areas for trees and that sort of thing, just so I can get a lot of fruit trees going for money, and then I can always chop some down for later landscaping ofc.

I always time travel, my typical routine would be play one full day, get all the fruit sold, pick weeds, dig up spots for fossils/bots, sell the sea shells, donate things to the museum and sell the ones that don't get donated, pay off my loan or a public works, and then I usually tt and do the same thing minus the fruit since it takes 3 days.

Also how do you get "permanent villagers"; do you just make sure to talk to them every single day and make sure they're not thinking about moving or can you like have a chat somehow with them to make them say they're permanent. Sorry I'm much more familiar with the game cube version of this game still so I'm still very new to this.

--Also i notice in your signature you're looking for Apollo, and he's not one of my dreamies, so if I get to the conversation where he says he's thinking about moving I can let you know and you can have him! ♡

I agree, I think the best advice I ever got for my natural town was to hold off on landscaping until all my dreamies were all there and accounted for. I would then begin acquiring everything you can. I would start the breeding of flowers or check out the thread on here to buy what flowers you need. I would go to the island and collect the bugs and sharks to earn as much money as you can so you can upgrade everything. Go into the stores and buy EVERYTHING they have. Every day. This makes the shops grow the more money you spend there. Then sell what you don't want/need to retail. You won't gain back as much money but this will keep the shops upgraded as fast as possible.

I also agree with time traveling in the start. Talk to the able sisters to get that shop going and TT until you have it. Shop every time you time travel at those stores and then make that your mission for every "new day" when time traveling. Just time travel one day at a time and it won't do anything to your town. It moves out all of the villagers as quickly as possible while still keeping you in the know on who is moving in and out.

Keep track on the forums on here to collect things. Make your house your spot to store extra flowers or keep it on the beach until your dreamies are there. I would also check out the villager trade here, that has helped me a lot.

Good luck!!! <3

You'll unlock the island after paying off your house for the first time, so I think that'd be a good starting point.

Thank you very much for your response! I definitely agree that TT is very easy at the beginning. I'll just have to be careful because I think I want to keep 3 of my current villagers, so I make it a point right now that I'm taking to at least those three people. Not sure if I'm going to change my mind or not but I'll decide later I suppose!

And as far as the breeding of plants go I'm not familiar with how to do that, whether it be flowers or the trees, etc. And is there bushes? I've only come across bushes once in my old town and I don't remember how! ha. ♡

Very good point! I'll get right on that.

Would agree about getting all your dreamies first!!
I've only just started to properly sort my town now I have all my villagers, before that it was such a mess and every time somebody moved in or out something would be ruined....
Would also suggest wherever your house is placed right now, put some PWP's by it as soon as you can. Even just streetlights. Will stop any villager moving in right on top of you and ruining whatever plans you might have had.
I placed my house in front of the tracks in between a pond and a cliff with a stone tablet in front....just to cover all bases :)
