I feel like we need a bit of positivity right now

Sure, a lot of you may disagree. People are selling villagers on ebay for thousands of dollars, people are lying about game-breaking bugs for clout, people are asking for an arm and a leg just to let you visit their islands. There are bad things, we all know this.
However, I've had so much fun playing ACNH over the short time its been released. I've probably used the online function more times in one day than I have in New Leaf in a month. I just love trading with people, I love visiting my friends and I love being able to so easily communicate with others!
I can go on trading websites or discord servers, ask for an item and get it within like 5 minutes! I can message my friends IN GAME and visit them super quickly too and i love it! It's the type of thing i feel was lacking so much in new leaf and personally i think its been done so well in NH! (as long as we ignore the painfully long cutscenes when people join shh we dont speak about those LOL)

I've always been shy and ive always been anxious, I struggle a lot with speaking to people and asking for things. During my NL days i was so terrified to even message anyone, but because of how easy it is in NH and how quickly i can just pop over, especially without having to add everyone as a friend, i feel ive really come out of my shell! I've had so many nice chats with strangers too and its really lovely!

It's just such a big, mostly-wholesome community and i love it to death! I'm coming up on my 300th hour playing the game and I cant wait to watch the community develop and, hopefully, change for the better too!

Im aware a lot of this was back and forth between good and bad, because we all know there are flaws, but honestly i the pros outweigh the cons for me. I really do feel at home here

cheesy rant over, goodnight everyone! lol

Under normal circumstances the Animal Crossing community is definitely one of the best out there! 🥰

It's a shame NH has brought out the shadier folk because normally it's way better than this but it's great to have an AC game right now, with the pandemic and all. It's really making all this a bit more bearable. Later in the year a lot of the shadier elements should die down. Until then: welcome, fren
Lemme know if you need another person to play with

It definitely came at the perfect time! Especially for me, since ive had a lot of other things going on on top of it unfortunately
I think we all needed a game and a community like this one!
and thank you!!

I don`t know, I feel for a game with so much positivity in it and clearly aimed at just that, there has been so much negativity about it. I know its not representitive of the community, I know its everybody`s right to criticise, I know we tend to criticise what we love, but still.

It sometimes gets a bit tiresome and feels ungrateful. I feel a lot of love and attention has been put in this game and is still being put in it, I kinda miss the enthousiasm sometimes it deserves, but thats just my humble opinion.

I do think overall its a very wholesome community with trustworthy, kind people. Its kinda like with everything in life, negativity tends to take a disproportionate size of the attention.

The game is still new and there are a lot of new people joining the community so it will be interesting to see how things will evolve over time.

I do totally agree, theres a lot of negativity in the community. But theres also heaps and heaps of positivity, and both of those are the side effects of NH becoming much more popular and mainstream. You're gonna get the people who just dont fully get it and bring the negativity along with them, wherever you go but now especially because the game is so big. I just try and assure myself that if i look into the negatives too much im obviously going to be bummed out, so i turn to all the positives! Like how helpful and kind everyone is, how easy it is to chill with all of my friends, etc.

i'm with you op! i have terrible social anxiety and unfortunately it extends to online interactions. i'm always really nervous about going to someone's island or hosting, but everyone is so nice! i've been slowly feeling more comfortable every time. the other night somebody had celeste + a meteor shower, saharah, and a villager crafting a bamboo shelf diy, and let a bunch of us in for free! they even let us take whatever fruits we needed, which let me complete my fruit collection. after we all did all our business we just stood around for a while spamming emotes at each other and enjoying the meteor shower! it was one of the nicest experiences i've had in this game. afterwards, my merengue was crafting a bamboo bench so i let people onto my island for free, and unfortunately she stopped crafting suddenly while three people were on my island and hadn't gotten the chance to get to her yet. but they were all so nice and understanding about it!

yes, there are some people charging insane fees for entrance, and the people selling villagers on ebay are especially shady. but there are bad eggs in every community, and i just ignore them. the people that i've personally been able to play with so far have just been so sweet <3

Yes!! this is the type of stuff that ive fallen in love with!
When NH first came out i was so so terrified of making mistakes and messing up to the point where id genuinely have anxiety attacks if i did something even remotely wrong, i didnt want people to know i was a stupid kid or that i could make such stupid decisions. But after speaking to so many people and trading with so many others who've made the same simple, easily made mistakes ive realised how little of a big deal it is and how we're all human and its just a thing that happens! On top of that, people are always so kind when these things happen and it honestly just warms my heart and i love it so much <3

You are right. Its not like I myself can play no part in it. I can try and focus more on the positives. Besides, I think the longer this game is around, the more the positive people tend to linger and make up more of the active community.

Definitely!
Accept there are negatives, but focus and push your time into the positives
