How do I get a villager on my mainstreet to move back in? ;_;
I lost Curlos due to me not checking everyday and he's finally resurfaced.

Unfortunatley you have to go through 16 villagers before retreiving an old villager again, the works of ACNL sadly

I thought it was 16 villagers before they fell into the void or whatever.
Or do they need to be in the void to come back?

If a villager is on the mainstreet it means he has moved out, even if he wasn't in the void [got by someone else] He would still take 16 villagers to get back

16 villagers need to have moved out after Curlos moved out. If he's in your main street that means you haven't gone through 16 yet
