I put Francine up for auction/trade on my IG and this person promised me Beau in return.
Normally, I put up villagers here but the last couple of times I didn't get any offers so I started putting 'em up on IG. Anyway, so this person says Beau hasn't asked to move yet but... They seem trustworthy. So I let them pick up Francine first.
I haven't heard back from the after that so... I hope I really don't get scammed.
If I do, I guess it's just my fault. ahhhh ;n;

If you put up a villager like that and they say they haven't asked to move yet then at least wait to get their villager first like
If you haven't been scammed I'd say you're kind of lucky. I haven't seen much of the ugly side of this stuff, but that's a HUGE risk and you should be more careful next time even if they didn't scam you.
This is a pretty big iffy situation... Just because somebody seems trustworthy doesn't mean they actually are trustworthy. Next time, wait until you know 100% that the villager you're trading for is in boxes already.

Thanks everyone! Next time I'm trading villagers I'll be sure to make sure they have the other in boxes. It's been about a day since they got her, but I'm not giving up hope yet. Ahh~
