When I first started trading for villagers, I'd advertise them as 100% original because I thought it meant they originated in my town, not picked up from somewhere else >____> when I realised my mistake I felt so bad but I'd already done so much villager trading I couldn't even message everyone to explain and apologise.

I'm actually really shocked no one called me out and I felt just terrible. Have you ever made any silly mistakes like this?

(should also probably mention that by the time I came here I knew what it meant, this was when I used to trade on tumblr)

i havent traded villagers before- but i thought the same thing you did re 100%. just googled it after reviewing your topic, so, couldve been me too if i had been trading them.

Yeah Mami-I mean Squidward- is right.

This is the cutest mistake ever!

Besides... even though I picked up on what is meant by 'original' villagers, I am confused about why people care about that anyway? can't you reset villagers to 'original' at the Town Hall?

Yeah I don't get the whole original villager thing like they're gonna change a bunch anyway if I want them permanently in my town so who really cares if their shirt is different?? Plus I never even go in my villagers' houses so I wouldn't even know if they were original or not

You shouldn't feel terrible at all! Honestly, villager originality never really appealed to me. I mean I may get a bit annoyed if they have something gross as their catchphrase (only because it reeks of immaturity, LOL GUYS LOOK MY VILLAGER SAYS D!CKNUTS XD) but I can always go to Isabelle to reset it. Plus unless they've changed their shirt too it's kinda hard to notice at first how original they are. I just don't care for their houses in general really either

It'd be pretty silly imo for someone to go and pick up a villager and say "nevermind I don't want them" because they don't have their original shirt or there's a sea bass in their house. Surely the villager should be worth a shirt that'll eventually be changed a fish that could be replaced, right?

That is a pretty cute mistake of you to make though. c: At least it's not some of the other trading horrors I've heard of.
