I have always wondered... Why do people do this?

I'm really, really curious about this one thing a lot of people seem to do. I am not one to criticize how other people do, but this one thing, it just makes me wonder why would anyone want to do it.

And that thing is... Why do people go to Tortimer's Club to do Beetle Hunting? When I hear "horror stories" about people getting "kidnapped" on the island, they're always mad they lost a lot of valuables when turning off their Wi-Fi to go home.

I just don't understand why would anyone do that. If you do Beetle Hunting isn't it just better to do it at your own island? I must be missing something here because a lot of people go to Tortimer's Club just to beetle hunt. You can always find mean people in the international island, and there are even connection errors that aren't anyone's fault that could make you lose a day of hunting.

So why do people do Beetle Hunting there? I think and think but I can't think of just one reason that would make people prefer to do that in the international island instead of their own.

I agree >_<
You'd think that people would want to meet other people through the club, go on tours, and I guess even purchase some of the items there.
But if I wanted to go beetle-hunting/fishing I always go to my own island.. you don't have to worry about people 'trapping' you. I'm just as puzzled as you, ha.

i believe because bugs spawn more often there (im prolly wrong on this)
that and if its the bug off you can go to the club and catch bugs for it yeah

that and it doesnt hurt to socialize while bug hunting

Some people don't like cutting down the trees/digging up the bushes on their island. If you go to a Club tortimer island, what you do doesn't affect your home island, so you're free to vandalize as you please.

Whenever I see bug hunters on club tortimer, they usually only have the top couple of palm trees and that's it xD The rest of the island is totally barren.

With Club Tortimer and lag, you get a few seconds to catch the beetle until it runs away.

Otherwise, IDK. I thought beetle farming on CT was like a dumb idea.

I suppose that's kinda reasonable, but doesn't socializing while bug hunting on the island seem like it would take up time you could be using to catch bugs? Maybe it's just me, but, since I've gotten all of the palm tree bugs into my museum, the only reason I bug hunt on the island is to catch the valuable bugs, fill up the basket, and sell them all off.

Or maybe I've just tired myself out from making so many trips to the island for bug hunting and lost sight of the possibility of having fun catching bugs.

I've sort of wondered too. I've done it once, but to be honest I think it's harder since you have to stop every now and then to communicate if they ask you questions.
I prefer not to go beetle hunting over Club Tortimer, but I'm not trying to sound rude to anyone that does.

If you don't TT, you could use club tortimer to catch beetles when they aren't out and about in your own town. So you could catch beetles all day as long as you end up on islands where the beetles are out.

Pretty much what LoveMcQueen says

I'm one of those who goes to CT to bug hunt.
It's night on the international island while its daytime on mine. Obviously there won't be bugs worth much on my island at that time. And I've personally only met one person who's "trapped" me there, so it's not much of a difference to me lol

I bug hunt when no one is there, and I normally socialise and play mini games when people are there. When I bug hunt, I don't catch that many considering the fact that errors are highly possible.

If I go on CT, usually I try to catch one beetle or shark to make up for the lost boat fare. Otherwise I'm usually just looking at the items.

Maybe they are waiting for people to arrive and so they go bug hunting? Otherwise I have only ever been to go play games with other people :)

I go to bug hunt and to fish. Like what was said though, it's night in other countries when it's daytime in mine. Talking to people while catching things is nice. If errors happen I don't mind too much it's just a game.

Whatever floats everyone's boat :P

That. When I was desperate for bells early in the game I used to go to CT during the day and look for an (international) night island to bug hunt. I rarely had any trouble or even other players who wanted to socialize.

I've even had a "connection error" on my personal island. It brought up Resetti and everything, like I had been online and shut the game down.

I go to the CT island to bug hunt, so I don't mess up my own island. Most of the time I've gotten onto islands with people who were already doing the same thing, so it wasn't a big issue.

I don't get it either. I haven't exactly been compelled to buy CT membership thus far and none of these posts are exactly encouraging, lol.
