What am I supposed to do here?

What’s worse is that of all villagers I could have encountered, Truffles lives here.

I feel like 99% of these islands are not worth the Nook miles. This is why I don’t accept NMT in my Amiibo figure poster shop.

That’s just my opinion. I met Hornsby, one of my favorites on my island, this way, but other than that I haven’t gotten anything but my native fruit, flowers I already have, and villagers I don’t want.

Hahaha, that looks super unfortunate.

I agree though - for the amount of grinding you need to do to get the ticket in the first place, they're not really worth it. I only really push to visit them if I need extra materials - usually can't go wrong there!

Edit: Y- yeah, it's the money rock island! I totally knew that and didn't just want to complain about the islands too! 😆

You got money rock island. You eat a fruit, smash that rock, then hop over with your stick. All the rocks there will produce money when you hit them. You got one of the good ones!

You gotta eat a fruit and smash that rock, allowing you to vault to the island in the middle. It’s not very clear what you need to do on that one, unfortunately.

Each rock in the middle is a money rock, though.
Oh that's a good point - I completely forgot about the money rock islands!

if you're still there, this is the money rock island ! v rare. eat a single fruit, crush the rock w your shovel and use a vaulting pole to get across, then reap alllllll the money from every rock on the center island !

for the native fruit and flowers bit - that's normal and annoying, i agree. its rare to get ones other than yours.

also, before breaking the rock hit it a few times for a couple hundred extra bells - not much but it's better than just getting a rock from breaking it lol

Yooooooo that's money rock island!!

Hit it to get money, eat fruit to break it, pole vault to the other side from its spot (may have to try a couple times) and alllll the rocks in the middle are money rocks.

I figured that out. I just don’t like the islands.

Okay, I’d like everyone to know that I figured out that there were money rocks.

I still don’t like these islands.

I agree. For the most part, I use them as a resource grab. In the 20-ish trips, I've been to money island and hybrid island, each once. Otherwise, yeah, not too good, at least considering the options.

They are very... repeatative.
Especially for "never visiting the same one twice" (liiiiiiiiiie)

I hope they add more variety ones soon... I basically only go to resource farm (and look at villagers)

i like them because i can make them into atlas moth islands (more relaxing than tarantula island) which then pay off my bridges, inclines, and house moves :3

/shrug i get that they can be repetitive, but i'm grateful to have another way to potentially adopt new villagers aside from the campsite and amiibos. it does feel pretty lackluster when there are no villagers on them, but it's a nice time waster for money / resources.

imo money rock island is one of my least favourite islands though.

I wish, even with full lots, islands had a chance to spawn a villager, who could then move to your island, kicking someone else out. Not EVERY island, but something like a 5-10% chance.

Yeah honestly I never really go and visit the nmt islands... I only went when scouting for 3 villagers to recruit into my town.

I’m underwhelmed by the islands as well. At first I was so excited, thinking there’d be something near to discover each time. What they really are, for the most part, is lesser versions of your own Island. Same fruit, same flowers, and only the least interesting activities to do (harvesting resources)

Not sure about everyone else, but every island I’ve been to were either my native fruit and flower (pears/pansies) or in some cases oranges/tulips. I’ve never seen peaches, cherries, roses, windflowers, etc.

I don’t understand why there’s so little variety in terms of fruits and flowers :/

Yeah, the variety of fruit/flowers on the NMT islands leaves much to be desired. Apparently, on the rare chance that you actually get a fruit that isn't your native kind, you can only ever get your island's "sister" fruit, (e.g. peaches/cherries, oranges/pears), which was a letdown. I don't mind trading with players for the other fruits, but I was really hoping we'd be able to find them on one of the mystery islands. Also the lack of exotic fruits from NL is kind of disappoitning. :/ I hope they make it back in the game at some point.

As for flowers, I've only seen tulips a handful of times, but mostly they're the same as my native ones (roses). Nowadays I just save up my NMTs to go villager hunting when I have an open plot.

Almost 80% of the money I currently have on my account and used to pay for everything in my town including my house came from the islands through money rocks and resources while I was trying to get my dreamies.
