MY GAMES COULD HAVE MET THE SAME FATE TOO.
He usually doesn't chew things up like this only food. and everyone in my family is saying it's MY fault for leaving it on the couch. Like who thinks "oh no, I shouldnt leave my DS CASE on the couch cuz the dog might chew it up" UGGGGG:(

Well if your dog was near, and you did put it on the couch, then it is kinda your fault for putting it there. You should have put it somewhere safer where a dog can't reach it, if you already knew that there is a dog in your house.

It is your fault for leaving it on the couch though. That's why I keep all my cool junk up really high so my puppy doesn't chew on it.

Most dogs are awesome, but this was clearly your fault.

he's never chewed anything before though. only if we leave out food he gets that but this is the first time he's chewed non food

Dogs chew on whatever they think is good to chew, not just food. If your dog has not been properly trained not to chew on things before, then he is bound to chew something when you do not expect it.

because like if he gets into the trash or something he'll leave alone anything that didn't have food in it and chew up the wrappers and packaging and such. NOT ONCE has he chewed anything that didn't have anything to do with food is what I'm saying.
Also, would he hurt my cat if he ever caught her? My cat is 11 years old now and I'm afraid she won't be able to run from my dog forever. It always seems like he wants to bite her when I hold the cat to my dog.

You don't keep your game stuff on a shelf? It's both dog-proof and little-cousin-proof.

well I keep it in my purse, so when I go places I have all my games. I had left my purse on the couch when I went to my softball game and came home to that surprise. All my other game related things I keep in a drawer in my room :)

I have had dogs my whole life. Dogs will go for food first and foremost, but if they are bored they WILL CHEW on ANYTHING. Just because he never had before doesn't mean he won't now or in the future. Chewing is actually a sign that they are not getting enough attention and are bored. To combat chewing you need to get him more toys or a big hard bone to chew on (because all dogs chew), take him for longer walks, play with him.

Destructive chewing like this is basically like a child doing something bad because they want attention. That or he is anxious because he isn't getting enough attention. It's just a game case, find all the scraps and make sure he didn't EAT any of it, and take him outside to play. Sunshine will be good for both of you and bonding time will help you both.

Babe you need to train your dog to behave. Mine use to chew remotes and shoes. He learned his lesson and now can I leave anything I want anywhere

Why would you hold your cat up to your dog?! It is most likely distressing for your cat and you are teasing/irritating your dog/goading him into going after your cat. If he snaps at your cat when your waving it in front of his face it is your fault for teasing your dog!

Also, I would suggest investing in some tough chew toys to keep your dog entertained, train him to stop going after your bins (my dog stopped going after the bin when he was a puppy as it was one of the first things we taught him) or general obedience training would be good! We also take our dog to agility classes every week to keep him exercised, entertained and to boost his obedience, so maybe consider something like that for your dog.

you're probably right about the attention. It makes me feel bad because he always looks bored all the time but he doesn't like to be outside. I've tried taking him on walks sometimes and he gets too excited and he's hard to control and I'm afraid he'll poop in someone's yard haha. He's not my dog though and I never wanted anything to do with him so I don't bother with him.

I did for like a second because I wanted to see if he would try to bite her if he could actually catch her

It doesn't sound like he hates outside, it sounds like he's not trained to me. If he hasn't been trained, he'll likely act out more.

DX why would you taunt your animals like that?

By presenting your cat to your dog like that he is more likely to go after your cat as you are suggesting to him that he is allowed to go after the cat, even if it is unintentionally.

I don't like dogs either, but I'll take a well trained dog over one with no training any day. If your dogs are constantly wrecking your things, you have some responsibility to take for it.

Also...you intentionally taunted your dog with a cat not knowing whether or not he would attack it? What the **** -_-

i didn't think about it that wayy guyss D: I'm extremely worried about him catching my cat someday and what he will do to her :(
