I got a turtle

I thought turtles eat lettuce. I read it in this turtle caring book that I got from the library when I was bored. o_o

Since I got him in a river, and I think he might like that better.

A good diet is a daily feeding of a few pellets and a few bloodworms or thawed/frozen krill. Insects, other worms, small shrimp, beef heart, and an occasional small fish.

Turtles eat lettuce. I've had a turtle for about 3 years.

Painted Turtles are Terrapins, meaning they mainly live in water, so you should have a fish aquarium with something for him to climb on for basking under a lamp. Also a filter.
But you should make sure it's a painted turtle, if it doesn't have web feet it's not a painted turtle or a terrapin.

The water doesn't need to be heated, he just needs a lamp for artificial sunlight because Painted turtles are basking turtle, the only time they like to come out of the water is to bask and to sleep, so you should have some for him to climb onto so he can bask and won't have to sleep underwater. (if he sleeps underwater he has to keep waking up over and over to get air)

Alright then you shouldn't have any problems except the bigger he gets you'll have to keep buying bigger and bigger tanks.
