they’re official, the only catch was you had to buy a whole box set rather than individual packs so it was really expensive. i think they sold out tho since that was over a month ago now - a friend of a friend’s was able to order one but idk if he had to use a third party shipping service or if it just shipped straight. ​

I was browsing etsy for amibo chips the other day and stumbled upon a Raymond amibo chip. I was confused since they don't have an amibo for him out yet?? The 3 reviews it had (lol) said it works but I want to know if that's even possible. I know you can make your own amibos with a card reader thing and uploading the characters info and such to the card but can you do that if it doesn't have an amibo already? Also, if I did buy it, which I'm probably not because I'm very skeptical about it, would it corrupt my save data or would it just treat him like a regular amibo camper? Lmk what you guys think, and if I should buy it or wait until they might come out with an official amibo?

I buy quite a few fan made cards from Etsy.

There isn't even an official Raymond amiibo card available - so where is this person getting the data? Ethics of fan-made amiibos aside... at least the data is there and available - it's taken from real amiibo cards. But the new villagers?

Seems like a scam.

It sounds pretty sketchy to me because Raymond hasn't even been made into an amiibo card + sometimes stuff like that, I wouldn't trust until there are about 100+ reliable reviews~ I think anyone can do reviews and make it seem like it is real.

General rule when bootlegging amiibo is that if it doesn't have an official amiibo, it can't be bootlegged. The data for making a Raymond (or any new villager) amiibo isn't there, so it must have been a fake listing.

Don't buy it. It is definitely a scam because his amibo isn't officially out yet. Reviews can be made up, super sketchy

The dataminer Ninji says there is no amiibo ID mapped to the new villagers so it's 100% fake.
