If he comes to your island on a Tuesday, you can just travel forward to Wednesday, donate the art you bought, travel back one day to Tuesday, buy more, rinse and repeat. His inventory isn't fixed like Nooks Cranny's is (unless you travel past Sunday.) So you can just go back and forth one day until you have it all. Also, my husband and I both play so when he had two genuine pieces that we needed, we could buy them both, which was really helpful. It took 4 to 5 hours to get it all, so it was a real grind, especially when we were down to just a few pieces and he either didn't have what we needed, or he did and it was fake.
