I finally made an account!

Ive been lurking around these forums since I got NL at the start of the pandemic. I easily racked up hundreds of hours playing on my DS and was excited to get my hands on a switch to play NH.

Personally I like the NL game better, it has a simple charm to it. There is so much more content and small things in NL that I miss. My NL town is very special and nostalgic to me even though I didn't have the game for that long. It really helped me out during the height of the pandemic, I like to kinda just wander around my old town when I'm not in a good mood, its a comforting little place.

BUT NH is just so much easier to play. Plus being able to have more freedom with the decoration and island design is amazing. I love seeing how other people transform their islands, not a single one looks alike.

My favorite villagers are Wolfgang, Nan, Coach, Teddy, Erik and Tipper!

Welcome to the forums! I was also playing NL at the beginning of the pandemic and got NH a little bit later. Now I'm mostly just sticking to NH but I'm sort of taking a break from that game as well right now. Great taste in villagers by the way Teddy and Tipper are two of my favourites as well!

I agree, some solid choices in favourite villagers (I love the designs of Wolfgang and Teddy)!

I agree that NH islands can be so unique! Do you have a particular theme to your island or a style you were aiming for?

Same! I got my NH game in late September and it took me awhile to get into it. NL has a special place in my heart though.

Teddy is so sweet, and I love how Tipper interacts with Erik. He's always asking her to smell his new cologne and then being like "Jokes on you I don't have any cologne I just wanted you to smell me" and she is so baffled each time.

Same, Teddy is just so cute , I love his chunky lil eyebrows. Grumpy villagers also have the deep voice which I love, it adds something to them.

My island is colorful and fun! Lots of colorful block patterns, bright flowers, sidewalk chalk. I found a lot of the design patterns I use under "kiddie" or "kidcore" tags on Tumblr ac blogs.

I really appreciate the more serious city islands or the ones that are messy and relaxed though too!
