yeah, i don't have dreamies either and tend to try and avoid picking up villagers from other people as much as i can (unless there is a huge sentimental value like with pekoe and ankha!!) i like letting the game have its own natural flow and direction

i hate octopi too!!! i had marina in CF and had no idea she was such a big deal, i guess it's because there's only 3 of them they're quite rare

Though I'm not with the idea of *dreamies* I am a serial adopter. I think I must have adopted five villagers since I joined here and then an extra one I didn't mean to haha! I don't really go out looking for the aforementioned ones (though someone just very very kindly offered me benjamin), I just look at what's offered, google it for cuteness and then if nobody wants it as a dreamie I'll take it!

Awww why would you feel ungrateful? I mean, unless you snatched them up from a giveaway or cycling thread when you didn't want them (which would be kinda rude considering the amount of people who want them) I don't see why you'd feel bad.
I got Lolly and Chrissy from my campsite, and even though they were not dreamies I invited them in, had a good time with them, and when they wanted to move out I gived them away.
Makes the fun go around!

I'm not a big fan of them either and I don't think it's weird to dislike popular villagers ^^

It's fine to dislike popular villagers, because that way people who love them can get them! I was lucky enough to get Marshal in my campsite on Friday, so I sold him on to someone who will love him + give him a good home.

I personally love Julian, who I have in my town, but I hate Tangy (who I used to have but voided before I knew she was popular) because she looks like an orange and I hate oranges.

There are a lot of Popular ones I don't like (Marshal, Bob, Diana, Fauna, and Bam come to mind), but some I like (Mira, Julian, and Ankha to name some)

I wish you'd get over this Marshal junk. I got tired of seeing you post about him. It's just a villager.

I have Ankha as one of my starting villagers, and I absolutely didn't like her, with the ^ mouth and strange eyes. But her smiles are cute and she's growing on me, but still I haven't bonded with her really... I don't care about the whole popularity issues for them being in my town, for me it's about if I click with them or not, and with Ankha not so much.
But when Beau came into town I really had an instant click and I adore him. Wouldn't have mattered if he was tier 5 or 1.

Frankly, the only reason why I would want to know villager popularity is to see if I can give them good homes with people who would love them as dreamies, before I let them go into the void.

And someone did, so I'm keeping her now until she's ready to go (and I have wifi...) and then she'll move into a town where she'll be more loved than at my town.

So really, don't feel ungrateful. Everyone has their own preferences, and that yours differ from the general opinion, does not make you ungrateful for not liking the popular villagers. To each their own.

On topic don't feel bad. I actually like having a popular villager in my town who I don't want because then I can give them away to someone who really wants them and we both feel good! I also had Julian, and he was a cool guy, but not a dreamie, so I gave him to a friend who helped me out a lot when I first started playing and she was really happy and loves him!

It's much better than getting an ugly villager no one wants and just kicking them to the void as soon as you can!

Ha! Don't feel bad. I'm not on the Julian fan club either, though if I ever did a Harry potter town, if prob try and get him for it. I think tangy's pretty sweet though. Best of luck finding them homes

Nah, that doesn't make you ungrateful. Everyone has different tastes. Just because a villager is popular doesn't mean they're going to be your favorite, too. I've seen several people who have a Tier 5 dreamie or two. Myself included. c:
