I've played New Leaf, City Folk, and now New Horizons... I thought I knew everything.

So if that's the case, why the HECK did it take me so long to figure out that "Nook's Cranny" is a play on the phrase "searching every NOOK and CRANNY" to find something you're looking for. I feel so dumb rn, I'm sorry AC community.

Tom Nook is also a play on the word tanuki, which is what he is (actually a type of dog)...even though everyone calls him a raccoon.

The first time I heard the phrase “Nooks and Crannies” was after I was an Animal Crossing fan, so I actually connected the two pretty quickly lol.

Back when I played my first Animal Crossing game (which was City Folk), it took me, my dad, and my brother MONTHS to figure out that we had to donate to the museum, and we were wondering all that time why it remained empty! XDDD
