I feel like I made a mistake buying the guide

I would've gotten it, but due to the delays from the shutdown, I had to cancel it. Nice collection piece though!

Yeah same it didn’t offer anything that wasn’t already available online! I guess just keep it as a collectible lol

There's that, and also there's a lot of errors in the book. $50 (Yes it costs that much here, retail price) for an already outdated book with errors and typos, is a bit much. I was considering buying it for collecting purposes but after finding out about the errors I've changed my mind, for that price anyway.

I do enjoy the feeling of a physical book to look through but as the others have said the updates will put the book out of date pretty quickly. It'll still be useful for all the base game stuff though or just to have as a collectors piece.

I’m still tempted to get it just because why not. I remember getting the Wild World guide for my birthday years ago, I was about 13 at the time and didn’t know I could find things out online so I read that book so many times.

I've still got my Wild World book!

I always think of guides as collectibles, so that's how I'm treating this one. The AC guide has a lot more crunch than fluff, though, and the mechanics-related stuff isn't quite as vulnerable to obsolescence as the other content so, again, still worth it to me. Especially as someone who does not care to get into data-mining, which for me, diminishes the magic of the experience. A good strategy guide like this one gives me just enough info.

I have one, and I really enjoy reading it especially whilst playing through the first few weeks. Now I use it as a reference for furniture items and what bugs and fish are gonna appear each month. Yeah you can find it all out online, but the guide definitely has a place.

Yes, the updates are not part of it (there's no mention of artwork, for instance), but there is still good info in it. Villager preferences are worth it to me, since I gift clothing and want to make sure they won't just clutter up the house. Most of the base furniture is there, including Saharah's items.

Plus, it's fun to flip through. :)

I got mine for the base catalog, villager information, and flower breeding charts. I even got a bonus list with KK Slider songs. Not disappointed in my purchase because I like flipping through it as a physical book. For me, it was a half collector piece and half reference guide for when I don't want to play by my computer.

i have always bought the guides for animal crossing and I bought this one as well. I ordered it in early march and didn't get it til end of may because of covid 19. It was 17.99 on amazon. I was already bummed because it was coming out well after the game which has never happened before. By the time I got it half of it was already useless cause I had been playing so long. It sucks it has so little info compared to past guides(I do wonder why prima didn't make this one as they have all the others). I do go online for info but I like having the guide in my hands and i like being able to mark off things I already have for easy reference.
