I dont know where to start :(

I finally decided to landscape my whole town and I spent a lot of time on planning where to put the certain things. I've just started a new town like 4 days ago and I don't really know where to start. I don't have the qr machine yet so I can't do paths. I thought I could start with removing the trees but I only have the standard axe so I won't remove more than like 8 trees. I'm tired of collecting flowers from the island tours. That kind of makes my motivation go.
How did you guys start and where did you get your motivation from? Any advice?

Start by just playing and expanding your house I suggest. Unlock the stores and get money for PWPs. Plot reset the villagers too!

I started from my mayors house, then worked outward from there. Connected path to the bridge and pretty much created more roads in between that.

You could always do some day by day TT'ing to speed up things and then return to today's date afterward

Make some friends to do island tours with you. My friends and I help each other collecting flowers from the islands. We have lots of fun doing it too cuz we also compete for the games.
The other thing is have a plan for what your path is going to look like. Get a picture of your map and see if you can connect all the PWP, buildings and houses together with lines (paths). Then you can start collecting bushes, flowers, and tree saplings.

I don't really have real life friends who play acnl and I don't know where to find some on the internet haha but that sounds like a good idea though

Even though you don't have the QR Machine unlocked, you could always lay out just plain blank paths around your town so that you'll have a rough guideline for when you do get the QR machine unlocked. It'd save time in the long run, plus it'll give you something to do!

I'll do that, sounds good. I also started to put things like shells beside the trees I'm planning to remove.

I'm doing island tours at the moment and I'm so annoyed by it. ( I hate those kind of mini games, that's why I'm playing acnl ffs haha

You can always 'outline' paths by putting flowers on the sides and work from there. Perhaps you have a logic way to walk to Re-Tail that you can outline or maybe put down flowers on areas where you want to put future PWP's. Buying saplings and flowers everyday to get the needed tools or check the island for a silver axe!

Yeah idk I'm not too much into having a big house... I prefer having like two or three rooms, especially in the beginning because you don't have enough furniture anyway haha
And I was lucky enough to get 3 dreamies and my favorite map in the beginning so making friends comes naturally haha
