The paths, the bushes, the public works projects I just don't where to start. Of course I have a few public works projects , but I don't know where to put the rest of them. Especially the Wisteria Trellis, I'm in love with how those look but I can't find a good spot to put it. The outer camera doesn't work anymore (I can take in game pics but not of qr codes) so the only way for me to even get a path is for someone to give me their towns paths. And I really need to start with decorating my town because everything is unlocked and my house is starting to have rooms on the left and right of the main room. Where do I start and has anyone else had this problem?

A good idea would be to start with paths throughout your town. They allow you to plan where things in your town will be placed in the future and serves as a guide pretty much.

If you haven't already, you should chop down all of the naturally occurring trees in your town (i.e. the ones that you get when you first make your town. They're really just pesky and get in the way of everything. Group all of your flowers onto the beach, into a hybrid breeding field, or sell them outright to Re-Tail. Then get to work on the paths, and expand on that from there. Get some bush starts as well. The entire town should revolve around the path. I think that the path is one of, if not the most important part of the town. O course it's possible to go pathless but I personally wouldn't do it.

Hm...well I use paths as guidelines for my whole town so I don't even know how to start helping you. :o But just imagine you have paths and border the areas with bushes/trees. :D

Also, do you know why it stopped working? Maybe try calling Nintendo to see if they can fix it? If your warranty is up you can go to club Nintendo and renew it by entering the code you got in your 3ds box. ;)

First, you should lay your paths if you haven't already. After, you should see a few places where something could go. Think about what you want to put there. Look at other peoples town pictures, see what they have done. After, just focus on that area, and usually (for me anyway) by the time you get that area done (if you're breeding flowers, it takes a while), you'll have at least an idea of what to do with the next one. Focus on each area one by one until you have done your whole town! That's what I plan on doing with my town, and just that first area has changed a lot since I started.

Hope I helped!

Even if you can't read qr codes, lay down some temporary paths. Pick a pattern slot where you want your future paths to go and use that pattern to start drawing your path. After that, once you find a path you like, all you have to do is replace that pattern (or patterns) and your path will be changed automatically. I recommend having an idea about what sorts of paths you like, in case you need different patterns for borders and corners. You can get path patterns from dream towns. I think you can also get patterns from the Able Sisters in other people's towns, so you could always ask someone to temporarily swap one of the designs in their shop with the pattern you want. :)

For where to start, I'd begin with either placing down any paths you have. Also, deciding how to organize your greenery would be a good idea as well. :)
