I don't have Lemons.. so no secret ingredient for me.. now what?

No one's been responding to my messages on trading, so I'm sort of stuck. I already did one without the secret ingredient, but I really don't want to do it without lemons.

Can I replace it with like a mango or orange? Or no..? And can I still get a good prize if I don't use the right secret ingredient?

walk into the villagers homes who are "cooking" get the fish or ingredient they ask for and they will give you one of the currently needed ingredients and tips for all the dishes you will have to prepare... i got lemons all day from them

You can still cook the dish, but you won't get as good a gift.
And I have some lemons. :L

You can get lemons for other villagers, or go to the island, I did international island twice and got lemons the second time.
