Idk if I posted this in the right thread but I was just wondering how long do you have to wait till you can get a villager that previously moved out to move back in? Julian left right on Valentines day but I don't know whether I can get him back at this time.

Is there something I need to do? Or do I just have to wait?

You need to go through the 16 villager cycle, meaning you need 16 more villagers to move out before you can get him back, the same concept going with all other villagers.

i usually cant wait and i got my Julian on here :I if my Julian left i would be devastated... he is my love (other than my real life boyfriend) and my king

I'm slowly going through the 16 cycles in my town to try and get my Lolly back (I'm also cycling in my other town trying to her that way as well). I hope you get Julian back soon! (If you look in the villager plaza you might find someone selling, trading or giving away Julian)

Thank you all for replying! Correct me if i'm wrong but are yous trying to say that if you can't or don't want to do the 16 villager cycle to get a villager back, you can still get them back from another persons town without having to cycle?

Yes, as long as you have an one spot open in your town, meaning you have 9 or less villagers, you can visit someone else's town who has a Julian that is in boxes. You speak to that Julian and you'll have the option to ask him to move to your town. He should be moving into your town within 2-3 days after that.

No, I'm pretty sure you need to go through 16 villagers before the same villager will move back in, even if you do get them from someone else.

Okay thank you very much for telling me! c:

Hm this may be correct. However in my second game Beardo left and I was able to get him to move in from a friend's town (it was a few days after he had moved out, with no 16 villager cycle), maybe I got lucky ._.

I guess the only way we can find out (If I didn't already have 10 villagers in my town) is if I were to adopt Julian or Merengue from another persons town and see what happens.

Someone recently tried to adopt a villager from me but was unable to because they'd had the villager previously and (we think) hadn't completed the 16 villager cycle. So I don't think you can get the villager from another town without cycling, but I may be wrong.

I think that this may be right with all the 16 villager thing, but the one thing I can't work out is how did garzea9r manage to get Beardo back again.....

ive never been able to adopt a villager again until after I completed the 16 villager cycle. you can always ask someone that has Julian in boxes if they'll let you try to adopt him, but I can't see how it'd work. as far as I know, the game stores your last sixteen villagers to move out and they can't move back in until they're out of its memory.

Oh hmm. I could be wrong then. I'll have to look into it!

Same! My Internet is down so I mind as well go do some light researching.

I didn't know about the 16 villager cycle at the time (I just found out about this last week when I lost Lolly and someone mentioned it) so I am also really confused. I've reset that town now because I wanted a new layout but it was maybe 4 or 5 days after Beardo moved out that I went to my friends town and asked his Beardo to move to my town. 2 days later I got a Beardo again .__. Was my game haunted!
