I hate Bell Trees. They never grow for me. Not in either game. I've wasted a ton of money trying to make these. Are there any tips for me?

It all depends on fenshui and luck.

I'm not expert on Wild World, but in the original, a Bell Tree will always grow if:

You plant in a glowing hole
There is no dirt or any objects adjacent or directly diagonal to it
You don't watch it constantly
