I've been playing through my new island, Finfall, today.
And low and behold, the very first island I visit had Fauna walking around! She isn't one of my top dreamies, but she is someone I will gladly take.

I usually have extremely bad luck with villagers so this was nice to see

Wow, congrats! It's pretty hard to find such good luck on islands. I haven't had any luck recently, but a friend of mine found Maple on one of their first islands!

Fauna is one of my favorites too (if you know my theming you’ll know why)! I’d say luck-wise my greatest find was Raymond (accountant cat) within 100 tickets. My favorite was getting Sterling within two tickets (I had two eagles beforehand so finding him was easier than Raymond tho).

I've had good luck since the beginning. Never had a villager that I have vehemently disliked, though there were two that I wanted to leave, but they weren't half-bad villagers (Celia and Tybalt).

Congrats! She is a real sweetie ^.^. I don’t have her, but I like to talk to @JSS’s Fauna. I’m glad your luck has been better.

On one of my last two island hops, I found Rosie l, one of my dreamies on my second island ^.^; I have her card but wanted to find them by island hopping since it gives me a reason to gather some more mats since I’m a lazy bum and don’t do it all the time on my island lol.

The last couple of island hops have been good for me and some of my earliest island hops were decent though took me a bunch of islands until I found someone I wanted (if I picked one, since i used to accept a random if I didn’t find the specific villager that I wanted). My last island hops ended me with Sherb, Rosie & Dom in that order. Dom is temporary but Sherb and Rosie are permanent residents. My earlier finds were in this order: Lily as a starter, Bluebear, Merry - who was another dreamie.

I just got Fauna recently too! She's real cute. I have pretty good luck for the popular villagers but I still haven't found the one I want yet. I'm still sticking by my no adopting rule. But I've been walking away with decent villagers when I finally decide to stop because it's pretty tiring island hopping even when you just walk to see who it is and then walk away.

Congrats of finding Fauna! I found her pretty early on back in April, had her until July, and I kind of miss her. Did get her photo though, so it's all well. And I've been rather lucky when it comes to island hopping, didn't take me long to find Bob and Kiki, and last time I went island hopping, I came over Annalise on my 2nd or 3rd try, but I wanted to go on, so I didn't invite her. But next week she was in my campsite, so I got to invite her either way!

Congrats on finding Fauna! She's one of the absolute cutest villagers in my opinion. I haven't been island hunting as much as I usually do, but I did recently find Lolly, which was a nice surprise.

Just now I stumbled on Merengue! I never paid her much mind other than saying “oh she’s cute, i get why she’s popular” but i am looking forward to having her as a neighbor at least for a while

(Even tho she’s my second normal rhino, my 3rd normal villager overall, and my fave villager whom i want is also normal........ merengue or rhonda will probably have to go someday... rip)

Early on, like @Sharksheep I had a lot of ‘luck’ with popular villagers - one of the first peppy villagers I ever came across was Audie, and i saw her 2 or 3 more times on another trip. I saw Stitches twice in one day, merengue a few times. I saw ankha on the first island once. Whitney I’ve come across a lot, Dobie, Vivian. But none of them were villagers I wanted, so I didn’t necessarily consider it good luck.

but recently I have had pretty great luck. I found Cole on island 11, and on the next island hopping trip tabby on island 8! Both are in species with a lot of members, and are favorites, so I felt that was extra lucky!!

I seem to have pretty decent luck with mystery islands, I've gotten quite a few villagers I was looking for while only using about 10 or 15 tickets.

Haha, I do get a bit obsessive! I do always feel a bit guilty about leaving popular villagers behind. If I was finding them now that I am involved in the forum I’d consider inviting them so I could give them away on here (I have amiibo cards now too, making that much more possible).

Nothing wrong with those popular villagers I passed up, I hope it didn’t come across snobby. Just, when you want who you want you can’t help it, you know!

That wasn’t snobby at all! I enjoyed reading how much you wanted them and how much you liked them. ^.^ I actually love it when people talk about how much they want certain villagers or just how much they like them since it occasionally peaks my interest in giving the villager a chance myself and it is nice to hear about other player’s experiences with the game.

Not related to villager hunting luck, but wow. I'm shook---- my villager move-in luck apparently is pretty good?

I've never really had anyone that i didn't like randomly move in (i like to let the game choose for me sometimes), but today i got notice that DIANA is moving into my town!! i literally saw this post earlier, and was like, "wouldn't it be nice if I could get diana", and I just logged in and omg she's in my plotttt!

none of them are very recent, but i’ve found the majority of my dream villagers while island hopping so i suppose that’s pretty lucky aha. but more recently, i found lily whilst island hopping and while she isn’t a dreamie, she’s adorable and i’m glad to have her c’:

I got my first scorpion island on Monday and Flick was on my main island. All 6 of the rocks on the island were money rocks and the only bug spawns were scorpions.
