I cleared out my house and my HHA points went up?

Hi, new member, so I hope this isn't covered all the time.

I was clearing out my house to re do all the rooms from catalogue. All I left in each room was the wallpaper and carpet and my bedroom with a sleek set (except for sideboard/table/clock).

Then the next morning I got a mail from HHA stating I hit 300k on the theme challenge and another letter saying I hit 500k on the theme challenge. How did this happen? I've checked a lot of guides and I feel I'm missing a trick here on how to get to 1m HHA score.

Any thoughts?

Edit: I forgot, I also left a full Pav? set in the main room.

Perhaps you had items that weren't from the theme challenge in the room. they may have been facing a wrong way, or not easy to reach. Pave is Neutral points so they add to whatever theme you have accepted and you get bonus points for having the full set.

I've always had the Pav? set in that room though, ever since festivale. And my reading of the guides is that inaccessible items or things on the floor don't take away enough points to make up the over 200k jump my house took. I took away alot and added nothing new. I didn't accept any new challenges either, I haven't really been in nook's homes shop in a few weeks. It's really confusing and I'm making a push for 1m now and I don't what I did to make it jump like that.
