I Can't Choose!

Here's my problem: I need an eleventh villager plot. I had all of my dreamies set out but now I don't know who I want. Fauna or Raymond?

My plan was originally not to keep Fauna. I found her on an island and snagged her because I knew she was popular and I could give her to someone who had her as a dreamie. However, she managed to find her way into my heart and I think I would be heartbroken to see her go.

I really liked Raymond when I first saw him, even before he had all the hype. But now he is extremely popular and expensive, I don't know if I'll ever be able to get him (or at least not anytime soon). That and my mom told me he resembles my ex and I kinda hate that lmao but I would still love to have Raymond in my town.

I've done a lot of thinking about who I would be willing to take out of my dreamie list if I were to keep Fauna, and it kept coming back to Marina and Raymond. I don't want to get rid of Marina because she's one of my mom's favorites and she shares my town so I feel like she has a say in this, so Marina is staying on her behalf. Now it's just up to Raymond. I really don't know who to pick because I love them both and neither of them are under the other imo. Keep in mind if either of them were to go, I wouldn't be missing out on their personalities because I will still have a smug (Julian) and a normal (Marina) either way, and I haven't had either of them before in previous games (Raymond obviously being a new addition to the game entirely).

My list of dreamies is in my signature if you have any other ideas on who I should kick, that saying, Pierce, Tom, Julian and Cookie are absolutely staying no matter what

I would love some input. Or a petition to have an eleventh villager.

I mean, both of them are solid choices. However, the only point that I want to highlight is that I think Raymond is only expensive for the time being due to the fact that he's relatively new, and he does not have an amiibo card yet. Especially now with the amount of people pursuing the campsite method, there's bound to be more Raymonds in the market which would certainly affect his pricing down the line. Obviously this is just looking at the price aspect that you pointed out.

However, if I were to choose between the two, I would be more inclined to keep Fauna. I think she has more of a classic appeal to her. But if you really didn't intend to keep her, then perhaps you should follow your gut instinct and get Raymond.

My only last comment would be that, if a villager reminded me of an ex, that's already an automatic ban on my island.

Take replacement cost out of the equation and assume you’re not going to need to “buy” another villager. Which one do you like best? Sounds like Fauna from what you’ve said

Based on the original post, it sounds like you really like Fauna more than Raymond. I say this on every decision thread I see lol but here's my thinking: If you see that people say "Fauna needs to stay!" more and that makes you really sad to see Raymond go, then maybe you need to see if anyone else in your town should go! It's a tough decision for sure, but I hope you end up with the villagers you really like.

Nobody is living on your island but you and no one will care who you have past the minute or so they may spend on commenting on it so pick a choice based on who you actually prefer

Part of me says I like Fauna more but I really love Raymond's design and I'd love to experience how his personality suits him, so I really have no idea

Oh no that's not it at all! I just pointed out his popularity because it's harder to buy him off of people now! I love his design, I think it's super unique and I feel like he would fit it with my others, but Fauna also fits in super well it's so dIFFICULT lmao

tbh listen to you're heart. Everyone is gonna have and preference, but usually if don't say "omg I love this and want this villager" within the first second of seeing them then I usually just leave em or let them leave
