I AM SO FRICKIN' MAD!!! - Why I Now Hate Shep and Void Villagers

I've been collecting Villager Pictures for weeks now, and yesterday I got quite a few. In the mornings I have my extra character grab the pics from outside and store them in her dresser. I woke up today and found a plot for Shep right over like half the pics!!! (well maybe, like 6, but still!!) and I have nooooo idea which ones they were!!
Then to make it worse, stupid me tries to go back in time to 5:50am and it just made him move in..

Luckily, Don Resetti's was not plotted over, but was so close I nearly cried (RIGHT behind his house)

He's outta here, ASAP!!

Oh no! That's terrible! ...but in Shep's defense he probably couldn't see the pictures on the ground with all that fringe in his eyes.

I don't have a wide selection of villager pictures but if you find out which ones they were, I could maybe replace some

Well, if you know that you have at least one open space in your town,
and you keep wi-fi / trading / streetpass others, then situations like Shep here is guarantee to happen again. ^^;;

Perhaps next time when you have an open slot, you'd consider putting the town in 'lockdown mode',
while inviting your preferred villager to move in first?
I'd say that is a much better alternative than having to deal with random void villagers.

Also, Shep is a pretty good 'unwelcomed villager' already. It could be a LOT worse.

I also hate how random villagers move in after visiting someone else's town without asking.

protip: dump items where villagers can never put down plots (plaza not where Redd's tent and etc could be, bridges, beaches, directly behind houses, etc)

That sounds horrible! Get 10 villagers and just keep them until all your pics are safe next time! Don't risk it!

If you have the police station, they'll show up there... otherwise, you can just try to buy them from people here since they don't cost that many TBTs.

If you don't have 10 villagers, start as a new playable character every day and quit without saving if there's a plot over your pictures (if not, save the game, and you can delete that character later). This will keep you from losing them.

They should be in the police station when you get it built.

Though I don't know if it fills up and keeps the first items you lose, or the most recent items lost. So maybe try not to lose anything else? S:
I just know I had a villager move where I left my collection of creepy series items and then when I finally build the Police Station they were there and I wanted to marry Booker.

How do I do that? Tbh, I didn't know what happened (him moving in) was possible. Thought only campsite villagers or asking someone from another town could be your 10th.

I had them all mostly right in front of her house, then a lil too the side. I also had them close to my hot spring, the area was already quite covered by ReTail, character's house, Lolly's house, street lamp and the hot spring, so I really didn't think there was space to move there. Especially since he moved right next to my bridge as well. Just a horrible spot! But thanks for the tips. I will be more careful next time! Will also make sure I pick up the pics before bed instead of right in the morning.. that way no unexpected, terrible surprises!

They will also show-up once you've built the police station as well I know the pain, lost a bunch of things when I stupidly stored them on the plaza ;w;

Any personality can suggest it. So the only way to improve the odds (marginally) is to target a personality where you already have most of their exclusives.

You made me think of this.
But that does seriously suck! I hope you're able to replace them quickly.
The only time I've had a similar, (not so serious), situation happen to me, was the
time that I had planted my only perfect fruit and my only mango by my house. It
took me a while to find my perfect apple, and I was lucky enough to have had Fang give me
a mango on my second day in town (I didn't have the island unlocked yet). I planted them in
the second space from my house, and Shari....Shari moved in, two spaces from my house,
completely demolishing my one and only perfect fruit and my only mango, at the time.
Though, I did end up quite liking Shari...
I've since reset, however.
Also, someone on here was nice enough to give me a basket of perfect apples and peaches...along with four hybrids.

I HATE void and streetpass villagers. After I got the bronze streetpass badge, I had to disable streetpass so i didn't get any random move ins from my cycling town into my main town. And the void is just so annoying. The problem is, you don't know when these ones are going to move in, so it's safer to start up a new characher before you load and existing one every day. I found that out the hard way.....

That was quick! And now you can allow villagers to move all over your items and not fear. xP

I find the safest way is to have 10 villagers as often as possible, and the moment one leaves adopt another villager. I used to use my cycle town to pre-screen animals for my main towns to move in, and if I got any streetpasses while having room I'd load my cycle town first that day so it loads the streetpasses onto there.
