So yesterday in C++ class, this kid was using the login/security/whatever program to send messages to people. He showed someone how to do it, who proceeded to show about 3 other people, including me, how to do it. I involved removing the internet cord when you log in, which gives you admin rights, then changing around 4 settings.

We did this, and were sending messages back and forth a bit in the class. One kid sent some to two teachers. We were fine though because they were teachers that liked him.

So today, we walk into the computer lab for C++, and the tech person is in there reformatting three of the computers... the three people right next to me. She instantly points to one of the kids in my class and sends them to the office. She tells us all to go to the other side of the room, and work there. At lunch time she sends another kid down.

Through the rest of the day, every time I hear someone at the door or ever someone walk by I would jerk up and think it was one of the security people and they had been sent to get me. So yeah, I was being even more paranoid than normal, which I didn't think was possilbe.

At the end of the day, I get on the bus with one of the kids in my class. He tells me that every singe person that was part of this other than me has been called down to the office so far. They think that we were hacking the school network and were messing around with the system files and some other *censored.2.6*.

So, I'll probably be called down to the office tomorrow and talked to about it. God... the tech person here doesn't know what the *censored.3.0* she's doing. She Reformatted the computers because we changed a few settings on a program on it. I'm really nervous, I've never really been in trouble before.

tl;dr version, me and friends in C++ class were accused of hacking for changing a few options.

Sucks!!!! That happeded to someone I knew in my CSS class, but he actually was messing with the files. Sucks thet you might get cought though.

At least it probably won't go on a criminal record or anything. You'll maybe just be suspended. If they talk to you about it, try to make it sound like a little prank that the other kid was doing and he convinced you to try something cool he discovered.

If the computers get admin powers when they aren't connect to the internet at login... that's just a horrible setup. It's not hacking, it's taking advantage of their extremely weak system. Maybe even try to spin it and be like "we found a serious security flaw." It's not like you changed grades, deleted something, or look at private information.

Lol. The "tech Nazis", as people call them, at my school try and try to block stuff, but I always have a way around. XD They block so many sites... All video sharing sites (YouTube, Google Video, Hulu, etc.) all e-mail sites (just recently Gmail), all social networking sites, all image hosting sites, and practically every site that has anything to do with video games. Using proxies used to be the easiest way to get around this, but now they've blocked what seems to be every proxy out there, except one that I've been using. And if that doesn't work, I use Tor. =P

be tell them that you seen the other kids doing it and you asked them what they were doing and the told you something ( just say somthing random , like how to make your screen look cool or something) and say they concinved you to do it , but tell them half the truth and say you werent hacking or anything...just fooling around

I'm just going to tell them the truth.

Someone said they knew how to send messages to other people in the school, and they changed some settings on my computer so I could do that.

Of course this is all if I do get called down there.

You don't know what Tor is, do you? It's a program that routes your connection to a series of tubes servers in different countries. It works like a proxy, but better. But because it has to servers all the way in Europe, it's really slow. And some websites are in different languages because of it. XD And it's not like they can stop me from using it. I use my MacBook at school, so they can't just take it and delete Tor. =P
