Later today I will be placing my QR codes. Does anyone have any advice of placing them. I have a path with a border just as an FYI. Is there any certain way to do it fast, should I make path going vertical or horizontial to my hous, should I make the Plaza square or rectangle shaped? Thanks!

When you are placing your patterns, you can stand in spot and drop 9 QR codes. Below is the order that they are dropped:
Directly beneath character
Front center
Front right
Front left
Right side
Left side
Behind center
Behind right
Behind left
If you're making your path 3 tiles wide, then you can use the method listed above to drop 9 QR codes before moving to the next spot. If your path is going to be 2 tiles wide, I like to stand on one side of the path facing the other side and just drop 6 QR codes, so I would stop before it starts placing the patterns behind me if that makes sense.
Always make sure you're facing in exactly the direction you want to be. If you are turned slightly, then it will throw off the direction the patterns are placed.
I like to make my Event Plaza a square because it's more pleasing to me, but it really depends on what you want to do with it. And as for making the path to your house vertical or horizontal, it depends on how much room you have. I like a vertical path to give a more secluded feeling, but there's nothing wrong with a horizontal path if that's your preference.
