So, Teddy is a jock. I don't like jocks. Really not a fan.
When Teddy told me he was planning on moving away, naturally I agreed with him. He told me he was leaving a week from that point.

I was surprised to learn that a villager can actually come to you a second time to ask you if you really do want them to move away. I didn't know they could do that, honestly. I thought it was a done deal when you told them to go. Apparently not. Either way, he gave me the option again, so I confirmed it by saying "see ya!"

It should have ended there. He should have began to pack up and move away. My friend actually wants Teddy, so this was doubly important. I needed him gone, he wanted Teddy.

I have a secondary villager based off of one of my characters, who is also a bear. He has to be a human of course, but lets pretend he's a bear like he's supposed to be. Male bears don't like each other. They're territorial. Nil hated Teddy for a number of reasons, but he began to hit Teddy with his net once Teddy said he was going to move, just for fun.

One afternoon, he went to check his mail, and Teddy pings him. Normally Nil wouldn't respond to other people, he's kind of anti social. He especially wouldn't usually respond to Teddy of all people. But he decided to this time, for whatever reason. Teddy informed him of his plans to move, saying he needed a fresh start in a new town. Nil told him to enjoy his new life, essentially telling him to bug off. You know what Teddy does? You know what Teddy does??

He changes his mind. He can't possibly leave! No, him and Nil barely know each other! How can he leave when he and Nil still need to become friends?!?!?
It was ENTRAPMENT!!! Regardless of what Nil said, "don't go" or "bye", HE WOULD HAVE STAYED.
Teddy, you ... AUUGH.

It gets worse. Teddy pings me later on, informing me that he's decided to stay after all. He tells me it was because Nil convinced him to. He said Nil 'needs him'.

I believe now that Teddy isn't actually being stupid, I think he knows Nil hates him and this is just a big power move. He's trying to get under Nil's skin, and he's succeeding pretty hard. We're both furious. I WANT HIM GONE. How could he do this. I'm so angry. Teddy, I could call you a number of insults, but none of them would make it through the filter on TBT because they'd be too harsh.

...No offense to anyone who likes Teddy. He's a very cute villager.
I ... just don't want him. God. Someone take him away.

Bonus: A scribble of Nil getting furious with Teddy.

Anyways if anyone has any tips on how to get villagers to move out faster let me know. Teddy has been here since the beginning of my town and I'm kind of done with him.

Awwww, I love Teddy! Anyway, that seems quite frustrating! I am sorry he changed his mind about moving! It especially sucks when you plan on giving the villager to someone that actually wants him. I hope your friend can get Teddy soon!

Also, that drawing made me smile. :)

Ikr! I have teddy in my town. The thing is I wanted another villager to move in. I had 9 villagers but after the day I made space for my dreamie.. he moved into my town... I was soooooo mad at him but I guess I have to manage anyway.

Oh and a piece of advice,
If a villager is moving out, just ignore their pings and don't talk to them. If they changed their mind for staying, you can reset the game.

I learnt this the hard way as well, Gigi said yes to going with my Mayor and then I spoke to her with an alt and she decided to stay.
As in your case she lied about what the alt had said!
As Pokeclasher says once they say they are going, ignore the pings from that villager until they leave.

I booted out Gigi with an amiibo card, Dobie. Interestingly when he gave me the list of who to take out, Gigi wasn't in the 1st few but she did appear & when I chose her, Dobie said, oh that's not very interesting she was going anyway- well words to that effect.
Not true in the sense she said she was staying, didn't care, it got her out.
Doesn't help in you case as Teddy is wanted by another player- he will ping again. Possibly quite quickly if you keep talking to him/making friends - they seem to move out a bit faster if you do (well possibly).

Thanks for all the tips! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been inconvenienced by this stupid bear.
...He's not a BAD bear. He's just a stupid bear, you see.

I'll be sure to try and make friends with him again. Hopefully he'll bug off by then. Nil will proceed to ignore him as is his desire.

I agree with this advice. I've had villagers back out of moving too for the second ping. If you ignore them and they can't talk to you again, it seems to prevent them from being able to "change their mind."

Animal Crossing New Leaf. Where you are forced into being the mayor but you dont get a say in ANYTHING.

That was so entertaining.

Anyway, this is why I avoid villagers like the plague once they've agreed to move out.

The first rule of unwanted villagers moving out is to never talk to them again. Ever.

I made this mistake last week when I spoke to Axel, forgetting he was planning on moving out and I wanted Rudy to replace him.

Yup! I get so upset whenever this happens to me so I just never talk to them LOL
