So I've had my 3DS XL for about a year and a half now. Everything works okay, it's just a bit slow and I wish I had the C-stick for my Majora's Mask adventures and better 3D for general gameplay. I have 2 Wii U games on my Christmas list, one of which I should be able to buy myself soon. Otherwise, I have preordered HHD and don't desire any other games for the year. So, should the beautiful Hyrule 3DS XL (without Triforce Heroes, not my thing) make it to my list? Why/Why not? :)

If you feel like you would really benefit from the C-stick and extra processing power, I'd definitely go for it. I'm getting it myself. You can always make some of your money back with your current model as well, unless you would like to keep it. They still sell well in good condition.

All of this is good advice. From looking at your situation, I'd definitely go for it. Especially since you can get some money back from trading in your old 3DS XL for the new system... :)

Thanks guys! Yeah, I can probably make around $70-80 on my old one. The real question is, will the Hyrule edition one be in stock by the time I want it? XD

Now that question is a tricky one.... I'm not sure about the release date, but if the release date works for you then I'd definitely say to go for it! :)

My pre-order says the system ships out on the 30th of October, but I know the game it's sort of associated with comes out sooner (the 23rd?). If you're able to pre-order, I recommend that option, since I do find that bit confusing myself, personally.

Yeah, but if I'm asking for it for Christmas I hope my parents order it in time. If I was old enough to have a steady job I would do it myself but I currently lean heavily on mowing, Christmas, and birthday, and I don't think I can make $200 by October 30. I cracked open my original XL and realized how fantastic the huge screens were and thought "There's no way I'm going smaller." My stubborn chubby hands win today.

Well if they ARE able to order it in time for Christmas then it's a great system to have. :)

Order it because it's pretty. That's what I did. I already got a Majora's Mask edition, but I wanted the Hyrule Crest one as well.

If you're anything like me, even if you missed out on the pre order or the release date, you might find an extra system on top of an FYE shelf (I got the MM edition when I stumbled upon it at FYE)

What's FYE
But it would probably be sold out by then, but you can tell your parents that it could sell out by then so they could preorder it and then give it to you a few months later for Christmas.

Yeah, this seems like a good idea. Tell your parents that it comes out in a month or two and to pre-order it for you, but not to actually give it to you till Christmas... :)

1 more thing. The website says it comes out the 30th, but Triforce Heroes comes out the 23rd. So the system might come out the 23rd as well since the 30th could be a placeholder date. So make sure to act quick!

I might keep my old 3ds since I'm getting the NFC Reader/Writer bundle for HHD, and just get a circle pad pro. Not sure thought, what do you think?

Well, a lot of games that use the c-stick aren't compatible with the circle pad pro I believe. So only get the circle pad pro if you want to use left hand motion controls in Kid Icarus Uprising since that's the only game that uses them off the top of my head. (I think there's a Monster Hunter game in there as well, but nothing like Smash or Majora's Mask.)
So you should keep it for now, no problem with that.
