so when I started playing New Horizons, I got really into and enjoyed flower breeding. Recently I picked up Wild World again and my first instinct was to breed flowers since I never did that in the first go around of Wild World. I looked up a guide on Google and surprisingly a guide from this site came up! Well I tried everything in it and my flowers still aren’t breeding. I made sure they are touching, there’s no rocks nearby, they are the same flower species of a color that can be bred, and that I water them both but in a week of trying, none have grown and even some have just wilted and dyed. Am I missing any steps in that list?

Hmm, I don't think I ever had this issue when breeding flowers in Wild World. Though the chance of breeding is not 100%, so maybe you're just having bad luck.
The only other reason I could think of is, there are certain unmarked "deadzone" tiles in the game where trees can't grow... I'm not sure if that maybe affects flower breeding too?
Maybe try moving the flowers to a different part of your town and continue watering every day

I do have them not DIRECTLY under the town gate but maybe a short distance away from where the stone ends, would being too close to the town gate interfere?

That could honestly be it, because I was once trying to plant trees there and the ones closest to the gate died. Maybe try in the southern part of town and see if that helps?
Ahhhh so refreshing seeing someone playing WW, I still have my original town the only one that I resisted the "uuuhhhh maybe reseting is gonna respark the fire", I played for the past months while I was on AC hiatus due not liking how overly pleasing NH villagers are, I was even starting to make my own pathtiles which I haven't try before. It is fun, even tho I am starting to make peace with NH I think I am visiting WW tonight, I wanna talk with some a**holes lol and get a coffee with Phyllis
I do prefer that the villagers in this game are much less kiss ass than the NH ones.
