Hybrids Hate Me

Black cosmoses are evading me. I don't even know for sure what they spawn from so I've been watering my patches of reds and oranges every day, but no luck yet.

I actually have the exact same problem lol. I've tried every various type of cosmos combo yet still can't even produce 1. My native flower is cosmos so they're by far the flower I have easiest access to. Black cosmos are either actually that rare or we're doing something wrong.

Cosmos are also my native flower. I managed to get 1 black spawn and that was from two orange cosmos! I've also seen that Pink + Orange will yield them too. Its just rare. Probably not on the same level as Blue Roses but still up there

Ah thanks for the confirmation! I guess it’s really just that rare seeing as I have at least 20+ orange lol. I’ll keep trying then.

Blue roses were really hard to get. Also I have toooons if pink and black tulips if anyone wants them.

I can barely get any hybrids to grow. So far I have only had luck with pink windflowers, but even then I only have five of them. Everything else refuses to grow, no matter how I arrange them or water them. I can’t even get some of my flowers to grow duplicates of the regular flowers, cause nothing grows.

Same. :/ Up until today I’d only been able to breed some orange and pink cosmos, but I finally got some pink hyacinths this morning. Hopefully my luck is turning around, but it seems to me that the breeding rate has gone down in this game? Or maybe I’m just really that bad at it lol.

I have so many pink tulips and pink hyacinths but any other flower type is just so stubborn and won't give me anything. TT ^ TT

I've mainly been having issues with getting green mums and orange roses. I have heaps of purple mums, but they keep making purple ones

I was breeding for pink roses and managed to get two purple roses somehow. They are all stored on one of my cliffsides until I get my hybrid garden up and running again. I'm going to try for black and orange roses next and then the infamous blue rose.

I've had trouble breeding hybrids by just watering the flower patches for them, but the rain always gives me like 3 or 4 hybrids the next day. I've found the easiest hybrid to grow is blue hyacinths. I got two of them by accident and theyre just kinda respawning like crazy lol

I have a terrible time breeding too. I only have multiple hybrids on my island because I found them on nook miles islands. I’ve only ever grown about 5-6 hybrids. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong since I water them everyday.

It took me over two weeks for my black cosmos to finally spawn. As I don’t time travel each day I checked was filled with sadness. Still trying to get purple windflowers , tulips and hyacinths, blue roses and green mums.

I haven't gotten any complex hybrids yet, but I've gotten plenty of normal hybrids. But even better: I've found out how to consistently get around 10-15 new flowers spawning after each day, hybrids and not. That part is important, as it grants more chances to get the complex ones for me once I have the right combinations to do so.

I'm like 99% positive that they came from a hybrid island. I got mine from putting a bunch of white ones together.

But yes - the hybrid island flowers are totally scrambled in breeding data - I've seen people get blue roses via Pink + Orange and many other strange combos like that, all because their flowers came from that magical hybrid island. Regular islands w/normal flowers work like flower bags, fortunately. (or unfortunately? lulz)

For green Mums, I've heard its a unique chain: Red + Yellow = Hybrid Yellow, which then breed Hybird Purples, which breed Green Mums. That's what I'm trying out just now.

That's crazy! I personally don't really have an interest in finding hybrid island rn since I want to try to get all the hybrids myself (and I have been successful thus far) but if it takes that much effort to get a green mum then I'll either have to TT a lot or just get them from someone else, cause idk if I have enough patience to try and grow them day by day

Don't get to daunted - I find that Hybrid Yellows are just about guaranteed from Red + Yellow, and some guides say that Greens can came from hybrid yellows as well. Just be sure that if the Hybrid Yellows spawn other yellows, remove those offspring, as those new ones could scramble things up.
