hybrid help?

i've been trying to get a purple tulip and a purple pansy for about a month now.
I've tried different combinations for each one and so far I've gotten no results.

Is there a trick for getting those type of flowers?

For a purple tulip, you need two orange tulips that came from a red and a yellow tulip.

Don't use any orange tulips that didn't come from the red & yellow tulips.

Put the two orange together with fertilizer and it shouldn't take too long.

For purple pansies put a blue and an orange pansy together and breed until they give you two special red pansies.

Breed the red to get purple.
