Hum... What the heck happened, and did I lose Wendy?

I'm very confused.
Earlier I adopted Wendy from a cycling thread, she said she was coming to my town, no problem.
I have 8 villagers in my town.
Anyways, I went home, saved and quit, and started the next day on a new save file to plot reset for her...
Not here. I know it can take a few days, so I keep moving a day forward, always on a new save file, and after 6 days I start to get worried...
So I move forward a month and go to the town on a new save file, and still no Wendy?
Did I lose her? What happened?
The only potential issue I see is that someone came to adopt Chrissy from my town about 3 hours before I went to get Wendy.
But since I had 8 villagers and she said she would come, I didn't think it would be a problem?
I'm so confused and bummed out.

EDIT: NVM NVM, SHE FINALLY ARRIVED, HAD TO TT FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS THOUGH, HAHAHA!

This is happening to me right now with Rosie... I have gone years into the future but still no plot sorry I wasn't much help but I hope she appears for you! Good luck

I saw people in other threads who had a similar issue. I believe they said that they time traveled a day ahead, went on with a new character, and if the adopted villager wasn't there, they still went ahead and saved on the new character. Then they time traveled a day ahead, and the adopted villager should be there.

Keep in mind I've never had this happen to me and I'm not sure how doing this fixes it. This is just what I've seen suggested. You might want to look around the forums a bit; I think I saw a similar thread posted even today. I'll try to find it if I can.

That may have been my thread I have saved on a new character but am waiting for the date to actually change in real life to see if Rosie's plot appears as I haven't been able to play on my mayor character for several days now ;-;

I'm sorry that you haven't gotten Rosie, yet, though. So maybe my advice won't work after all.

Sorry I can't help more. But you're not the only one who's had this problem before. I've seen tons of posts just like this, and I'm not sure that anyone has ever figured out why it happens. I can't imagine why letting someone adopt another villager (in this case Chrissy) would botch things up like this.

Um I couldn't wait another day for Rosie's plot to appear so I TTed ahead one day and her plot appeared!! This was using the saving on a new character then going forward one day method thank you very much SonatinaGena! Good luck, I hope it works for you as well c:

Doubt it'll happen. But I've always had it appear the day after, so I'm not sure if one of the poster's methods works. Worth a try.

Yeah, make a new save file, save, then keep on going. I guess that's the general idea? I hope it works! I wouldn't give up just yet. Wendy could still appear.

Beats me as to how it works though, if it does. I've been trying to figure it out but it's just not coming to me.

I didn't make it one day after the adoption so I don't think it really matters (not 100% sure on this though). But yes, that's what I did and now I'm just plot resetting for her!

I've heard that if you go out of the town by the other person using "Send everybody home" the villager won't come

Just make sure you take the train home when doing a villager transfer

I've adopted many times before with the person doing that.
