So I'm really stumped on how I should lay out my paths. I have grey block paths around my town and for now they seem to be doing the job right. But I also want to add water paths. I'm not sure if my block paths are in a good spot and hit most of my town properly.

I'm so new to designing... >_<

Could you visit my dream address to perhaps give me advice? I'm really stumped...I've been stumped for months now. >_< Like, should I keep the paths I have? Do they look nice or is the pattern itself ugly? Where should I add water paths? Should I add them at all? Should I just use the grass deterioration method for paths instead?

Ignore the squirrel patterns, the items on the ground and the water/bridge blob by my beach. They're all getting removed eventually. As well, I'm eventually going to outline the paths with bushes and trees but I just don't want to plant anything if I'm not sure on the paths.

I took a look and I think they are OK for the most part ^.^ a few areas look like they need work, but over all the paths lead you everywhere you need to go so I think that they are fine. It will look better once you place more public works projects, trees and stuff down later. I also don't mind the path itself I think it looks nice, but if you don't like it you can always change it.

Here are my opinions and suggestions:
1) Surround Kid Cat's house with path and move the path from Mint, Static, and Lolly's houses up by one tile. This is what I mean by surrounding villagers' house with path... with my Bruce, Fauna, Bam, Lopez, Beau and Diana's houses shown here.
2) Connect the path by Static's house to the town hall, basically creating a new path to the right of Static's house.
3) Consider connecting Cafe to Town Plaza with a path runs along the right side of the pond.
4) Surround your Retail with path and connect the path to Flurry's house.
5) Remove the diagonal path from the north of Town Hall to Retail. And use a few straight paths to connect Flurry's house, Retail, and Town Hall.
6) Get the horizontal path to run from Blaire's house to Pekeo's house.
7) Move the path south of the train station 3 blocks to the left (it's okay to have rock on a path). Then run the path down to the police station.
8) Surround Walker's house with path. Then run the path from Blaire's house to his house. Then the player can walk all around Walker's house and go to Mira's house.
9) From the back of Walker's house connect it to the campsite.
10) Connect the campsite to the fountain and fountain to the train station.
11) Replace the diagonal path from Marshal's house to the Hot Spring.
12) Move the path to the north of your Hot Spring up by 1 tile.
13) Surround Marshal's house with path. Then Marshal's house is connected to the beach's entrance.

~Water tiles can come after you are done with your town layout and landscaping. It really depends on the town's design to see if water tile matches. To me water tiles look bad when they don't match with the path design.
~Your path design looks good as a modern themed town. So try not to clash your tile with the woody zen themed designs.
