How Was Your New Year in ACNL?

Thread says it all. What were some experiences you had in ACNL during the countdown, and did you do anything special to celebrate it?

As for me, mine was a bummer. My best friend was in my town with me for the countdown, and we were gonna spend it together and pop our poppers as soon as the clock hit 0. But guess what? As SOON as it hit 0... IT DISCONNECTED. I was so ticked. :c What a horrible start of the year...

But afterward, I found this kind of funny. All the villagers were prancing around the plaza and popping their poppers, when all of a sudden, Marshal ran up to me and asked me for my stringfish... Really Marshal? 2015 just started like 15 seconds ago, and you're worried about my stringfish. I said no. And this gets even more funny. He had a sad emotional response and was moping around about it, and every five seconds or so he would pop his popper while smiling then go back to moping around. xD

I then talked to everyone around the plaza and posted a Happy New Year post on the bulletin board. I loved their little hats!!! <3 I was wearing my blue new years hat but the villagers hats were cuter!! >w<

What I did to celebrate is was that I had a New Years Party! It was so fun!

I spent my New Year with my town in June 2014 and trying to landscape my town.

This was my first Countdown and I thought it was pretty fun and cute. I audibly gasped when my villagers starting putting on hats. I took pics with each of them individually with their hats on. I made one of them mad because I kept pushing them because they wouldn't stand in a good spot for a pic, but got it eventually after they calmed down.

Meh, mine was pretty much the same as it was last year. I basically just went around and talked to all the villagers and took a bunch of pictures. They all look so cute in their little party hats! Sorry you and your friend disconnected right at zero. :/

My new year's was fun! I loved seeing my villagers in their little hats. c:
I spent most of my time on ac starting my second town though, which was fun.

This is my 2nd New Years and it was the best one.
We had the northern lights on New Years Eve and New Years Day.
This year I watched the fireworks longer and saw the numbers in fireworks. Started with 2 and it went slowly enough so you could get a picture. Didn't see it the first year but I didn't watch the fireworks for too long.

Resetti was opened for before the ball dropped. He went on about how much weight he gained. And was talking about having to make a tunnel. While I waited for midnight player 2 went to visit my harvest town. She caught some bugs and did some late night weeding. Won a bed from Leif. Came back and Mr.Badge guy was there. He gave her two bug badges and a weeding badge.
Dancing with the villagers, Redd and Isabelle was a highlight.

I accidentally popped my party popper 20-ish seconds before the new year... I tried to buy a new one from Redd as fast as possible but the jerk basically told me he was too busy enjoying the final seconds of the countdown to take the time to sell me a party popper! Stupid Redd. But other than that it was good.

My year in Animal Crossing was awesome, but I forgot to go on Animal Crossing at the New Year.

I had the pleasure of letting off a popper every ten seconds at the one minute mark. Afterwords I talked to my villagers and then fell asleep watching the fireworks and sipping cider. Ahh a good New Years indeed.

I wasn't expecting too much of it. Then about 4 minutes till midnight someone came to my town and she joined me for the experience, which was a lot of fun!

I loved seeing how my villagers (different ones than last year) were clapping at the sky. It ended with another person coming to my town giving me another of the new year's hats and hybrids.

Not such a bad start of the year, aye?

I thought that my New Year event is going to be pretty much run-of-the-mill experience like last year, but there are a lot of things that happened. Let me recap what happened.

First off, T&T Emporium was selling a one lamp as the spotlight item. What a clever way to advertise the New Year's imminent arrival!
Second, a bad luck struck me and kept tripping whenever I run. Frustrates me when I'm basically forced to wear something potentially tacky to get rid of said curse or keep walking.
Third, I paid a visit to the Reset Surveillance Center late at night, and Don was there. Sure, he didn't say anything special, but he sure wished me good luck. I guess he's celebrating the New Year without his co-worker.
Fourth, I somehow performed a glitch that carries the 10PM music while the countdown musics are being played. Every time the countdown music is transitioning to another, I hear the 10PM music playing. I triggered this without knowing it, by putting my 3DS on sleep mode while the software is being played without displaying the HOME Menu. Then, I wake it up a bit after 11:00 PM and the glitch took place.
Fifth, I carried two snowballs to the Plaza, making sure the snowman himself can participate while laying sideways. As I was watching the countdown counting down, Julian has gotten so excited he somehow pushed hard on the snowman's body, therefore accidentally destroying it in the process.
Sixth and last, is about me getting the goat statue from Isabelle. Aside of that, nothing particularly exciting here, but it's worth mentioning just in case not anyone haven't gotten one yet.

From the looks of it, 2015 is going to be another wild ride waiting to be happening. I don't exactly know what it really is, but I'm definitely hoping for a happy new year.

new years was good this year! recently, I reset, got most of my dreamies, found a perfect map, town name, and made a vow to myself to stop time traveling (due to too many tt accidents in the past etc.) unless I need to buy a villager and tt someone out and stuff! So this year was my first new years with my babies and it was so adorable! I seriously loved the villagers hats and how they all hung around the town tree and clapped at the fireworks! they looked like they were having so much fun! I also loved how all my babies stayed up super late! especially zucker! he partied the entire night ;w;

i really hope this new year will bring me lots of good health happiness etc.
for myself, my loved ones and of course, all of you and your loved ones. happy new years everyone, let's make 2O15 a good one! I drank my cider on the new years! My lovely marshie the marshmellow was at the countdown. All my fave villagers were there (mint, blaire, marshie and pashimina) no kidd or hamlet!!

Didnt they have ticketd last year? Or was that something else? But isabelle and redd trampled some gracie grace stuff for my giveaway xD ill get it again tho

It was my first ACNL new year and it was okay. I waited until the countdown and popped my popper. I talked to a couple of my villagers and watched the fireworks for a couple minutes, but I got bored and turned off the game lmao. Guess I wasn't feeling it too much.
