I read somewhere that if there's a fake in Redd's shop, some of your neighbors will tell you something about how Redd scams you or that he sells fakes... Hope this helps

no. Some of his furniture is rare, some is easy to find. and sometimes, once in a while, he'll sell you a forged painting.
