Way too many questions, I'm sorry..But I've noticed people have two towns..How is that done?

Awh...I only have one :c
will two physical copies of the game work with only one 3DS? (ie. swapping the cartridges)
or do you need two 3DSes? O_O

My daughter and I have 2 cartridges and share a 3ds with no problems.
Yes, this is what I have. I do swap my cartridge into a friend's 3DS every week or two to transfer stuff back and forth but usually it's in my 3DS along with my digital game.

I have two copies -- one downloaded and one cartridge -- and they share the same 3DS with no problems.

I have two cartridges. The downloaded version is more expensive, so I just got another physical copy instead.
I also have two 3DS's, as I didn't sell my old 3DS when I upgraded to the XL.

I have a downloaded copy and my original physical copy. It works fine on the same system, I just move at different paces for each town.
One is for cycling and one is my main.

The reason I play two towns... Well, I started with Lilycove, and I kinda rushed through things. Beetle hunted until I had millions, TT'd a LOT in order to get the Emporium faster... That sort of thing. After a while, I felt like I wanted to do things more slowly, so I got another cartridge and made a second town, one that I'm doing no TT'ing or beetle hunting with at all, and progressing through the game at a slower rate. Also, I wanted to do a different sort of theme with my other town... I wanted to make something farm based, and get barnyard villagers instead of the cutesy villagers I wanted for Lilycove. It can be difficult managing the two -- sometimes, I feel more like playing one than the other, so I tend to just focus on one at a time whenever I feel like it. But, anyway, that's why I have two towns. C:

Cyclers time travel to move villagers out and gift them to people (most of the time, for free.) You can find out more by going to the Villager Trading Plaza and clicking on the prefix - [Cycling]
It's also used to get back a villager you recently lost.

i don't understand why you would need to share the same sd card between both 3DSs in order to trade items between the two towns... is that what you are saying?
i was thinking if i had 2 3DSs i would just friend both of my own players and then just visit each others' town to trade stuffs.. no?
