So i've had my town for 6 months, and in that time only one villager has gone Freya, and that was because i hadn't logged on in a few days... I constantly moan and say i want new villagers and try to get some of my dreamies for more variety, however whenever one asks who id feel ok with leaving, i prevent them from leaving or end up feeling guilty and stopping them from going
Lopez asked today and i said ok, hes lived in my town for 6 months and is not a dreamie however already i feel guilty -__- how can i stop this from happening? ill only regret it if a dreamie turns up in the igloo or a good villager is offered, i just get so attached to them all
I have every villagers picture whos lived in my town and i always said i wouldnt let anyone move until i get their pics but i still find it difficult too

Does anyone else find it hard to let them go LOL i sound pathetic, i need some advice off people who regularly just let them leave
I wasnt like this in wild world i must have had atleast 50-60 villagers

Just think they aren't real and they don't have feelings. Also they want to leave your town so you might as well let them go.

I have 6 villagers that I am keeping as permanent dreamies, but as soon as I get the other 4's pics I'll find 4 new dreamies ^~^

Im opp of you,.
Most of them i wouldn't stop them , since they wana venture out.

Feels bad if i hold them back.

Except Apple who is so happy when i say no :D

I always look ahead to my eventual goals, and feel happy knowing that their leaving takes me a step closer to that.
Also you will ~eventually~ see them again on Main street.

If mine consistently ask to leave, then I let them go because it frustrates me after a while, haha. Also, I used to never let anyone go, and now I just think that there are so many villagers I like who I'd like to maybe have living in my town one day, and I won't be able to achieve that if I don't let any of my current villagers go. You can always get a friend to take them so you can go and visit them, too - that's what I did before I reset, my flatmate has my old Peanut and I go and see her regularly :)

No worries I feel the SAME way! I had Dora in my town since the beginning and I only said yes to letting her go today because I have some one who wants her as a dreamie. They're my little friends. My little animal friends. Sure they're aren't real and don't really have feels but I grow attached to them. That's part of the game. I discovered my dreamies are the villagers I already have because I love them. However, it is nice to get fresh faces in your town, especially different personalities and you can love them too.

i feel the exact same way lmao i bought the game at launch and i'm just now realizing that i need to be working towards dreamies. i'd had the same villagers since i started playing : -(

I feel like you'd be more comfortable letting them go if you knew they were going to a good home c: so maybe if someone is moving out you can see if they're wanted by anyone, then offer them to that person?

I have my dream 9 that I'm excited to complete, but there are so many other villagers I'd like to experience that I probably won't keep them all permanently, but they'll go to good homes before the void.

Let them go to loving homes. like give me Apple You'll be happier, and you'll have variety! And if you have their pics, at least you'll be able to see them! <3

Maybe think of it as letting your kids go to college? :) They need to see the world! Let them travel to another town. Keep on turning down their request to spread their wings also may not be good, right?

I think I'd get bored with the same villagers for so long.
Even Vesta who is one of my absolute favourites will probably leave me one day, letting old villagers leave and letting new villagers move in refreshes your town I think. Which is why I don't really have a list of 'dreamies' either, I like seeing who will move in, even if it's an ugly.
But I'm on a mission to collect as many pictures as I can without buying them :D

I have gotten caught up in this. I even have a thread found here: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showt...ggestions-Advice-Current-amp-Future-Villagers . But one should not lose sight that this is fiction.

I think prioritizing is good. Say, for example, there are three villagers you absolutely have to keep (for quite sometime longer). Okay. Check. Then deal with the others.

I've been playing this game since August. The early villagers who have stayed are: Jambette, Scoot, Drago, and Hans. I'm willing to part with Hans. Around here Drago is quite popular; so I know not to lose him. With Jambette, I dig her regardless of others' indifference. And in Scoot's case, I think he's a sporty hoot.

The best response I received from that thread came from a forum member stating that my town lacked variety in personality types. And that is what I'm going to go to work in correcting. I should have thought about the usefulness of a cranky prior to losing Walt. So I need a different and new cranky. I'm also going to need a uchi, which makes my preferred choice of Tammy a Dreamie for more than one good reason. (Admittedly, I had that category covered with Shari. But I wanted to let her go.) It's good that I got Broffina, a snooty, a couple days ago. I really like her. As for those remaining in my town who I want to let go: I need to lose one lazy and one smug. Hans fits the smug category; for lazy, I would prefer to lose Clyde.

I should add: I realize a reason to have a variety in personalities is attributed to the Public Works Projects the villagers will suggest.

I do the same thing! And I feel like just because they were there from the start that they have more right to stay, even if I hate them. :/

Though, as I get better visitors in my campsite I'm getting closer to accepting I'll have to get rid of someone someday, so maybe in a couple more months I'll be ready to kick one out. :p

IDK what to do now -__-
I spoke to Lopez and he prevented himself from moving today, he said that we are best friends, and how could i just be willing to let him go so he is staying :L
Do i reset until he goes or see this as fate that he should stay?

Ommmg I'm the exact same way! Half of my dreamie villagers are just villagers who were in my original town that I can't let go T-T

I dunno. If you want new villagers, reset. If you want the same old villagers, let him stay..
