Hello I’m desperate. I have been following what The Internet said and ignoring the ones I want to leave but it’s been weeks and no one will leave my island. I saw a thought bubble thing the other day and ran up to talk to the villager, but then the thought bubble just vanished and they spoke to me like normal. I know in NL there was an almost foolproof cycling method so has anything like that been developed for NH yet? I saw another thing saying a villager will only ask to leave every fifteen days??? Why won’t they leave? I have the max of 10 villagers and I just want to get rid of two that I was forced to move in from campsite and one that showed up randomly. Please help ;;;;

Ignoring your villagers won't make them leave.. in fact.. it makes them stay. You NEED to talk to villagers before they even THINK of moving out.

The ingoring them thing is completely false information that was spread.

They will ask randomly to move out (thought bubble) You have to do nothing at all to trigger this; it can even take up to three weeks for one to ask to move.

You actually don't need to talk to them. When I was cycling villagers hardcore for my dreamies, I didn't even introduce myself to anyone that moved in, and they all moved out.

How did you cycle to get them out??? How many days did you skip? And now I’m very confused do I talk to them or not??? And I keep seeing thought bubbles but they usually either disappear before I can talk to them or the villager gives me a shirt... I’m at my wits end OTL

Even if you don't, I've seen people have better results talking to them at least once before TTing again.

So talk to the people I want to leave, skip to the next day, and then they will have a higher chance of wanting out?

People have reported better results, yeah. I don't think you need to go day by day, either. Villagers go into a "where have you been?" state after 7 days so you could TT like 4 days, see if a villager is moving, if not, talk to them to prevent the 'where have you been?' thing and TT another 4 days, etc.

I recall a thread on this a while ago, I just dunno where it went.

That's good for them. I'm going to debate what's better or not. I've cycled over 150 villagers and gotten my dreamies days ago, so I'm satisfied with my method. However, to each their own.

I personally went forward a month at a time when cycling, considering they can take a couple days, a week, even up to 3~ weeks to ask to move. If you value your time, rather than TT'ing every few days, just jump forward a month and check; it's more efficient. TT'ing every few days takes too long because it means you're watching that horrendous loading screen more than you need to, slowing you down.

Also, the thought bubble above their head does not always mean they want to move; but if they do want to move, they will always have a thought bubble above their head.

I personally believe that as always, it's just random. Even villagers you're friends with will move when randomly selected by the game. I know others suggest being mean and ignoring, but I've yet to find evidence of that working in AC games

If you're a TT'er, just keep TT'ing day-by-day until they're thinking about moving.

what i have been doing is tting 7-11 days at a time, which so far has guaranteed me a thought bubble/ping about moving when i get in the game. if it's a villager i want to keep, i say don't move, rinse and repeat.

but i would be careful, someone doing this yesterday must have triggered the move out twice or whatever, because diana's house became glitched to where it says "i've moved out" but her house never leaves - which something similar happened to someone else, except they were inviting an amiibo from someone else's island to move in and triggered the move in dialogue twice (apparently) and now shep's house is glitched on their island too

Well I've used Mello's method and it works. Its faster and more efficient. I've gotten my dreamies this way. ^_^ Stopping to talk to them every few days is just a waste of time.

If you skip a month, does anything bad happen? I know in new lead ppl got really mad at you and also sometimes people just up and left without even telling you. Will that happen in this game too?

I think in New Horizons, no one leaves without telling you first. I could be wrong though

Took me about 5-6 hours, but I finally got Zucker out to give to someone else. I had about 6 villagers (some repeats) ask to move out, but he finally asked. It is completely random. Just keep at it!

It takes about 2 weeks (around 15 days) for a villager to ask to move out! If you're planning on TT to kick them out, use increments of 15 days and look around your island to find one with a thought bubble! If that's the one you want to kick out, encourage them to leave, and if not, ask them to stay. If you don't find any villagers with the thought bubble, TT one day at a time to find them!

I wish there was more official information on this. Lots of websites and guides claim so many things that seem to be based on guesswork. My friend has two move out one after the other and does not TT. I also don’t TT and two had asked to move out within 15 days of each other, (4 days apart perhaps). I think it is truly random because I’ve been ignoring a specific villager but the ones who have asked to move have been the ones I’ve spoken to more.
