With Nature Day no longer a thing, how do those of us who started playing after its removal get the hedge diy? I read something about ordering a bunch of bushes from Leif and he would give it to you, but I've bought 30+ from him and so far nothing, so I don't know how accurate that is.

"You must be the first player to buy from Leif 3 separate times—the buy counter can only increase once per day and only for the first player that buys from him.
A second player would have to buy first 3 other times, then talk to him again. Buying on other islands adds to the counter as long as nobody on that island bought anything from him yet that day. However, you can only receive the DIY on your island."

I'd be curious to know if this applies to buying from his shop on Harv's island as well, or only when he's actually visiting your island. I'm presuming the latter, but it would be a nice quality of life thing if you didn't have to wait around for him to visit.
