How to get lots of IGB?

Most people use giveaways or turnips. Most giveaways may give you bells, although I haven’t used a giveaway on this particular site. Turnips are very popular and are commonly used as a way to make bells. You buy turnips on Sunday, and sell the turnips at the store at a higher price than what you paid Joan. That way, you profit! You can even post here, and someone else may have a high turnip prices. Some users are willing to time travel to find high prices.
I would advise you NOT to time travel when you have turnips! That will make the turnips die, and you won’t be able to sell them! Do not make the time on your game go backwards either, because that will also kill your turnips. You should be aware what your turnips die seven days after you originally purchase them. For example, if you purchase your turnips on Sunday, then the week continues... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, to Saturday. When your town hits Sunday, your turnips die. Make sure you sell them before that, but always make sure you sell them at a price higher than what you paid for them, even if you have to go to someone else’s town to do so. I hope I helped!

I made millions selling turnips at someone else's town. Subsequently when I had a ridiculously high amount of money being offered for turnips at my town, I hosted other people and was showered in tips.

Anyway....Can't really give advice for turnips because I've given up on that. I do however, catch bugs after 7pm, which is the best time and ONLY get the rarest bugs that are worth 8k+, that would easily give me 300,000+ per trip. You can also catch the sharks as they're easy to see, but I find that catching beetles is faster. I remember the first week I was able to unlock Tortimer's island I went all out and was able to pay loan of 3 rooms + build 1m worth of pwp. Also, if you're lucky and have a lazy camper in your campsite, do the trick where you sell them those bugs and they'll buy it 4x the normal price.
Or you can do what Moonfish said if you're tired of beetle farming lol.

How I get lots of in-game bells is to sell fruits that are not native to my town whenever they're on premium at Re-tail in my town. Though... I did have the infinite fruit basket of every fruit from someone to help me earn lots of these bells. I also time-travel and keep track of the days when those fruits are on premium at Re-Tail. :T Before... I used to go to the island to get lots of the bugs to earn in-game bells, but I was kind of lazy to do that and found a different way to get more in-game bells. I did try to use the turnip market to get bells once, but it wasn't the method for me since I can't time-travel or the turnips will spoil. :X

Visiting a town that has your perfect fruit on premium and isn't your native fruit helps. You can get 54K for a perfect fruit basket.
Finding a player that has high price turnips at retail when it's Sunday in your town is a good way to buy/sell on the same day.

To add to my previous post, yes, you can sell your TBT. My previous post was just mentioning the ways to obtain lots of bells using in-game methods! Selling TBT proves to be very efficient. I’m not exactly sure how the original poster feels about hacking and having items or bells that are hacked, but if it does not bother them, you are allowed to sell your TBT. The conversion//exchange rate is really high for selling your TBT for in-game bells!

Other than the island, I personally trade to get all the fruits, fill my town with them and then sell it all. I also collect perfect fruit and visit other towns to sell it off for an easy profit

Another thing I suggest (I don’t know if anyone told you this) but if you look in I believe the TBT Marketplase you can trade with people and exchange up to 250k IGB per TBT bell. I did this and got 30m+ IGB
