How to get bamboo shoots?

My bamboo trees only produce 1 bamboo shoot and that is all. Is the only way to get them island hoping or through trading?



I was able to get a bunch yesterday when I was villager hunting, but I’d like to know in case I need more later on.

You can also get Bamboo Shoots by buying Turnips from Daisy Mae (she'll mail them to you the next day). I'm not sure if it's based on the amount that you buy or if it's just random. I've bought x amount of Turnips from her before and she would send me the shoots. But then the following week, I'd buy a larger quantity, and she didn't send me any. So maybe it's just random.

Whenever I buy turnips, I get some shoots in the mail the next day from Daisy Mae! Or if you find a bamboo mystery island I always dig up the shoots for my storage.

according to the guide she sends you bamboo shoots when you buy 100 turnips. i have bought more than that from her and never gotten any bamboo shoots. and yes the bamboo trees only produce one shoot each, supposedly they did this due to the many complaints about too many bamboo shoots in nl. i personally think they went overboard with this, they should produce more than one shoot i would say at least 3-4.

I wish Leif was able to sell them to us though like he has done before.
