Well , as the title says , back in March-August I remember playing so much of this game and wanting to finish my island and enjoy the game , but sadly , the more weeks pass by the more I get away from the game :((

Could this be a burnout or something? What do you do when you haven't been playing for some time and get back to it?

And also , since it has passed some time since last time I played in August , have I missed too much of new stuff?

I think it's perfectly fine to have a break from playing! Even if it's prolonged :) However, it seems to bother you so here's what I do to get hyped/ feel motivated to play: I love watching animal crossing villager hunts/ AC streams while playing. Something about hearing another player talk and seeing what they are doing makes playing less boring to me. It also helps me to find new decorating ideas!

About the other question: Since autumn is my favorite season I am living for the update and seasonal progession in the game. It's definitely worth having a look :)

If you do want to play, this might be good time to start because of the Halloween update especially since farming came out.

That way, it can essentially ease you in with more exciting dailies and tasks. That's usually what I do when I take a break from the game. Play in smaller doses.

As far as missing things, September was the start of fall for northern hemisphere people. They mostly were tasked with collecting acorns and pinecones for some fall diy.

Ditto ! I honestly find a lot of animal crossing youtubers kinda..... annoying :/ but I was watching a few that were (to me) actually enjoyable and seeing new play styles encouraged me to switch up my gameplay and made me excited to get back into the game to try new things out. Also with all the new halloween stuff I've been really stoked on slowly halloween-ifying my town :)

Just play when you want to play. Nothing is forcing you to, well, force yourself to play. Heck, design a new island using online tools or something. I've done it like twice already. Gives me a reason to start up the game for the day and gives me something to do.

Perhaps you could explore another theme with your island! Tear everything down, look up ideas for inspo, etc! I binged watched a ton of island tour videos, and that always makes me want to pick up the game and tear everything down, haha😅

I took a hiatus myself. I tend to burn out BUT I came back for the Halloween goodies! And the new season! I also decided to completely terraform my island again. I'm sure I'll take another hiatus before Christmas stuff comes out, but that's perfectly okay! It's better to take a break than to force yourself to play a game you aren't enjoying. Maybe you'll want to do the same! Just set small goals for yourself so you can see results faster!

What I find helps is to not focus on island design for a while
Talk to the villagers and chill, try and catch a new critter, explore the museum, anything that I enjoy for 5 minutes that isn't stressful!

I'm hanging in there, hoping for some of the old items to make a return. ^_^

I do come back to the game every now and then but not every single day like I did in New Leaf.

I'd say definitely take a break and come back at a later time because if we're being honest, there really aren't that many things in NH that allow you to have a structured daily routine compared to NL. NH only has: 1 daily visitor, the nook shop, and Able sisters that change every day. That's less compared to NL where you had: The Nook store, the campgrounds, the able sister's, Kick's, the museum shop, and Tom Nook's housing store, Brewsters, and maybe Katrina and Redd.

You are not alone. I took a long break over the summer myself and have recently started playing more frequently again. It really comes and goes. I started small as to not overwhelm myself. Just logging in everyday and checking out the shops. Eventually a few days in, started actively spending a few more minutes talking to my villagers again every time i played - to where i am right now, remodeling my island bit by bit like a maniac cuz it's fun and challenging.

You haven't really missed out on much. Any creatures, bugs, or fish you haven't caught during this period can just be caught next year. Any event or furniture you might miss out on can always be bought off other players. There will always be time for that if you so choose. Feel free to take a break and come back to it when you get the itch to play again.

I took a break over the summer as well. I only started playing again in anticipation for Halloween and autumn. I love autumn and I am enjoying decorating my island for the holidays. I keep meaning to boot up New Leaf to get candy for Halloween there too, but New Horizons has been keeping me busy.

My advice is to start small. Come up with a short term plan. Gotta build that rhythm back. Play in moderation.
