How to get a villager out of my town without being a virtual bully?

I have a bunch of villagers who I want to move so that I can get my dreamies, but they've kinda grown on me. But that doesn't mean I don't want them to leave. I just don't wanna swat them with nets and shove them around. Any ideas?

When it's about time for someone to move out of my town, (3-4 days after the last villager has moved out or in) I head straight for the villager that I want gone and avoid running into any other villager. They usually ping me. If they don't ping, then I run around and see if the game has already registered for someone to move out by talking to the other villagers and seeing if anybody else pings.

It's the most reliable method that works for me since trying all the other known methods & I use it all the time.

Remember also that the last villager who has moved in, won't ever move out. Also, villagers won't move out unless you have 9-10 villagers. Oh & a villager won't move out if they're sick so check for that, too.

Edit: Ignoring them won't work since you want them to be able to ping you. So make sure to talk to the villagers you want gone occasionally. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure if you're willing to TT, but if you are, I find the best method is to TT forward two days, stand in front of everyone (to see if they'll ping you), talk to everyone twice if they don't, and if no one asks to move out/mentions that someone else is moving out, go forward another day, and repeat. Once someone pings you, accept/reject their request based on whether you want them gone or not, and you can TT to their move date (or a day past it) if you do, or forward another day if you don't to repeat the process! Be careful that you talk to everyone daily though -- you don't want any surprise move-outs!
