How to change a villagers exterior

I just updated so im hoping that doesnt change the fact that weve had the ability to change the exteriors of our villagers houses!!! I really want to give tex chesters house exterior!!
So i just wanna make sure i do this right..
Has anyone else had experience with this??
I geuss i need to had chester move here first.. then i need to have him move away.. but this is where it gets confusing

To create the glitched exterior have Chester move out and then skip the day that Tex will be in boxes then play on the following day.
