Ok so I've seen people say "add me" and others reply, "Added" but idk how to add new people. I know how to added them, you go on the ds and you add them but when your adding them, do you have to get their 3ds name right to add them or can you just type a random name in and when they add you it will be changed? sorry if it doesn't make sense but this has been puzzling me for some time now :/

I don't entirely know what you mean. But you need to add their 3DS code. So in the main menu of your 3DS you go into your friend list (orange square face) and register a new code/friend. You enter their code in and when they have you added as well you'll be able to see their Mii and if they are online.

If the person you added hasnt added you, then you can type in a temporary name just so it can be registered to the FC. Once that person adds you, I believe their Mii name or name registered on their 3DS will replace that temporary name. You can just type in something to remember who that person is for the time being
