How often will villagers ask to leave?

I heard that a villager can ask to leave any day after someone else has left or arrived and after 3 days it’s a guarantee that someone will want to leave. Is this true?
Audie joined my town a few days ago (I think 2) and I really want to get rid of some other villagers. I walk around all the time and rarely see the bubble. Does it have to be the first time you see the villager that day or can you keep walking around until one appears on someone?

Really sorry to butt in to this, but I have a question sort of similar to this, would villagers asking to leave be impacted by campsite villagers moving in and replacing villagers?

My personale experience:
I moved in a bunch of amiibo char (literally one every 3 days) no TT, and 2 characters asked me to leave. First Coco, couple of days later Rodeo.

I've been playing about with this. It's approximately every two weeks if you say yes to a request to leave; and approximately every five days if you say no.
