How often does THIS happen??

So I caught a sea bass today, gave it to Chip and went and checked my mail. My mailbox was *****ING, it was so full. SO I opened the letters with presents. I sent Tammy a basket of perfect cherries, and wait-get this, she game me a BAMBOO SHOOT! She said it was too out of style for her xD
I don't even have T&T Emporium, so that's a pretty good thing for me

Now I don't have to bother JellyBeans about her since gone bamboo shoots xD

None of my villagers have given me bamboo!

my villagers give me fruit and bamboo shots all the time. i once gave kabuki a black katana and got an orange in return. my town's native fruit. really went out of your way there, buddy, huh? have said it once, will say it again - my villagers troll me so hard sometimes. D:

What's so special about Bamboo shoots aside from they're only sold in the Emporium?
I don't know that much about them..

find literally any person who has already gotten bamboo in the game and just ask i swear to god they will just give you shoots for free. it's good bells at the end of every 3 day cycle i guess but it's just... so much bamboo... just take it off my hands

to be honest? nothing, in my opinion, aside from the fact that it takes a little longer to unlock the emporium and therefore to get the bamboo shoots. other fruits can just be shaken from trees on the island, bamboo shoots take a little longer to obtain.

Yeah I've been given persimmons a few times and non-native fruit as well. Bertha once mailed me a pink hydrangea bush which was nice since I didn't even have the gardening store at that time

Probably the most adorable thing that's happened to me so far was when Muffy sent me a letter saying she'd grown a flower just for me and an orange lily was attached. Special or not, I love it when villagers give me plants. It's so sweet.

I got my bamboo shoot from Marshal before T&T Emporium too. I don't see much purpose in bamboo though. Maybe I'll do some landscaping with it later.
A villager also gave me a hybrid flower once, but I forgot who did that, maybe Skye.
