How often does mom send gifts?

So I’m trying to collect the gifts from mom and was wondering if there was a pattern in which I get them or if they appear at random. The only one I have is the homemade cake because it was my birthday not long ago.

I don't think the cake has to do with your birthday since I got one and my birthday is not until december. I've received the backpack and 2 tissue boxes but same color but I didn't keep track of how I managed to do that. I did do some TTing all the way to June when I was kicking out unwanted villagers.

Not often enough. Apparently mom has a tighter budget in NH than in the previous games.

I think it's a different item in a random colour each month. I remember someone posting a list on here but I forgot where it was.
